Calling All Lubbock Area Physical & Occupational Therapists!

The Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS and Lubbock Caprock AMBUCS chapters invite you to join us for an Ice Cream Social at Holly Hop Ice Cream Shoppe on Friday, November 6, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Come enjoy a sweet treat while learning how AMBUCS and our Amtryke program are making a difference in the lives of children and adults with mobility challenges. This casual, come-and-go event is a great opportunity to meet local AMBUCS members, connect with fellow therapists, see adaptive Amtrykes up close, and discover how you can help identify clients who may benefit from these life-changing therapeutic tricycles.

Whether you're already familiar with Amtrykes or just curious to learn more, we'd love to visit with you and share how we can work together to create mobility, independence, and joy throughout our community.

Last weekend, 3-year-old Margaret received her very own Amtryke, and the joy on her face said it all!

Born with spina bifida, Margaret is a determined little girl who works hard to keep up with her two older siblings. After a close friend who also has spina bifida received an Amtryke through AMBUCS, Margaret's family saw firsthand the freedom, confidence, and happiness that came with being able to pedal independently. They began hoping for that same opportunity for Margaret.

Now, thanks to the support of the Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS and our amazing community, that dream has become a reality. Margaret is ready to explore, play, and create new adventures right alongside her siblings.

We gathered at Adelphos Cellars for a fun and delicious social, where the talented team from Graze Craze taught us how to create beautiful charcuterie boards. From arranging meats and cheeses to adding those perfect finishing touches, everyone had a great time learning, laughing, and enjoying each other's company.

We were thrilled to have nearly 50 people attend, including many guests of our members. It was wonderful to showcase what makes Monterey AMBUCS such a special organization: friendship, fellowship, community service, and a whole lot of fun!

A big thank you to Adelphos Cellars for hosting us and to Crazin' Grazin for sharing their expertise and amazing charcuterie boards. We're especially excited to welcome so many new faces and hope our guests enjoyed the evening enough to consider joining our AMBUCS family.

Here's to great friends, great food, and making a difference together!

Today, Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS had the joy of presenting "MoMo" with her upgraded Amtryke, generously sponsored by A-Plus Super Storage.

At 25 years old, MoMo loves spending time outdoors, listening to music through her headphones, and making memories with her family. Despite facing challenges from epilepsy, autism, and a congenital condition leaving her legally blind, her bright spirit and love for life shine through every day.

This new Amtryke will help MoMo continue enjoying the activities she loves while providing greater comfort, independence, and freedom to explore the world around her.

A heartfelt thank you to A-Plus Super Storage for making this life-changing gift possible. Partnerships like this help us create opportunities, build confidence, and bring smiles to deserving individuals right here in our community.

This week we had the honor of presenting an Amtryke to Bear, an amazing 10-year-old who loves spending time outdoors and playing alongside his siblings.

Living with cerebral palsy and epilepsy can make it difficult for Bear to enjoy the same level of independence many children experience. While he never lets his challenges define him, his new Amtryke will provide opportunities for greater mobility, confidence, and freedom as he explores the world around him.

A special thank you to Mears Auto Group for generously sponsoring Bear's Amtryke. Your support is helping create meaningful opportunities and unforgettable moments for children in our community. Because of your generosity, Bear now has a new way to ride, play, and make memories with the people he loves most.

Z-Dog entered this world weighing just 1.5 pounds and has overcome incredible challenges, including vision impairment and other disabilities. Despite the obstacles he's faced, his determination and spirit continue to inspire everyone around him.

Today, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Sonic of Lubbock, Z-Dog received an AmTryke that will help provide greater mobility, independence, exercise, and fun. Seeing his smile made this day truly unforgettable!

A huge thank you to our members, Hannah Ruth Stueart and Annalisa Mastroianni Riggins, for taking the time to speak with physical therapy students Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center about the life-changing impact of Amtrykes!

By sharing their experiences and passion for adaptive tricycles, they helped future healthcare professionals understand how mobility, independence, and inclusion can transform lives for children and adults with disabilities.

We love seeing our members advocate for the AMBUCS mission and inspire the next generation of therapists to make a difference in their communities. Thank you, Hannah and Annalisa, for being such wonderful ambassadors and helping spread the word about the power of Amtrykes!
