Summerfest 2026 — We’re Back!

Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS is once again hosting our annual Summerfest fundraiser on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the YWCA of Lubbock on University!

This unforgettable night brings our community together to change lives right here at home. Every dollar raised helps us:
🚲 Provide Amtrykes to children and adults with mobility challenges
📚 Fund scholarships for Texas Tech therapy students who are shaping the future of mobility and independence

Join us for an evening filled with:
🎶 Live music
🍽️ Dinner, fellowship, and plenty of West Texas fun
🎁 Silent & live auctions
💛 Inspiring stories from Amtryke recipients & scholarship students

Because of supporters like you, last year we gifted nearly 30 Amtrykes at no cost and awarded almost $60,000 in scholarships. Your generosity truly keeps our mission rolling.

Important Update for Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS Members!

We’re excited to announce that our Monday luncheon meetings are moving to a new location!

✨ Starting Monday, June 8th, we will begin meeting at:
Center Pointe Event Center
📍 4925 Marsha Sharp Freeway
(Located between the Days Inn and Comfort Inn on the south side of the freeway, between Slide & Quaker)

We’re looking forward to this fresh start and continuing our mission together in a space that better supports our chapter’s needs.

Today, sweet 8‑year‑old Brook received her brand‑new Amtryke — and she was surrounded by the biggest cheering section you could imagine: her loving family.

Brook has left hemiplegia cerebral palsy, but nothing slows down her determination or her bright spirit. One of her biggest wishes has been to ride around with her younger family members, and now she finally can. Watching her climb onto her Amtryke with that huge smile… pure magic.

This moment was made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of our members, Andy and Jesus, whose donation ensured this Amtryke came at no cost to Brook’s family. Your kindness will create years of joy, strength, and independence for this amazing girl.

Receiving her new Amtryke was a special day for sweet Gentry. At 20 years old, she faces severe seizures every single day, along with challenges in balance and independent mobility. Life hasn’t been easy for her or her family… but when she received her tryke, something beautiful happened.

As soon as she got on her new Amtryke, her mom said she laughed for the first time in a long time. That sound — that joy — filled the whole room.

This Amtryke is freedom. It’s movement. It’s confidence. It’s a chance for Princess G to experience the world in a way her body doesn’t always allow. And seeing her light up reminded all of us why these moments matter so much.

This week, we had the honor of presenting Carroll with his new Amtryke sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW Post 2466, Lubbock, Tx
Carroll served in the Army, where he injured his right knee, and he’s continued to push forward with grit and determination—even after a right hip replacement. Staying active is important to him, whether he’s out doing yard work or getting in his daily mile-long walk.

His new Amtryke will help him keep moving, stay strong, and enjoy the active lifestyle he works so hard to maintain.

Please help us congratulate Carroll and thank him for his service. We’re proud to support his journey toward even greater independence and wellness.

What a night! Our 2026 Installation Banquet was full of laughter and big AMBUC energy.

We celebrated a year of service, thanked our outgoing leaders for their dedication, and welcomed our new officers as they step into a fresh year of purpose and possibility.

One of the highlights is recognizing some of our members with special awards:

Rory received his brand‑new Amtryke, and his excitement was absolutely infectious — the kind of pure joy that fills the whole room.

His handwritten thank‑you note was just as endearing as he is. Rory is a young man with autism who walks everywhere for transportation around his small hometown of Paducah, TX. This Amtryke will give him something priceless: safe, independent mobility and the freedom to get around his community with confidence.

A big, heartfelt thank‑you to American Bank of Commerce for sponsoring this Amtryke and helping make Rory’s world a little bigger and a lot brighter. Your generosity is making a real difference.

We loved hearing from Erin and her crew today and learning more about the incredible work The Daisy Project is doing right here in Lubbock County. Their mission is simple but powerful: helping families keep their beloved pets at home during times of financial hardship.

The Daisy Project provides pet food and support to households facing tough seasons, making sure pets stay with the families who love them — and out of shelters. It’s compassion in action, and we’re grateful for the difference they’re making in our community.

Thank you, Erin, for sharing your heart and the impact The Daisy Project is having across Lubbock County.
