🌟 Mentor Monday Recap 🌟

This week's Mentor Monday at the Ted Phea Boys & Girls Club featured lessons from mentor John Roley, whose message to the teens was simple, practical, and timeless.

John encouraged teens to:
- Be early.
- Work hard until the job is done.
- Ask questions and never stop learning.
- Build a reputation based on character, integrity, and dependability.
- Learn life skills like budgeting, accounting, and understanding credit.
- Lead by example because others are always watching.

One lesson that resonated was the importance of asking, "Is there anything else I can do?" before the end of the day. That mindset of service, initiative, and going the extra mile can set someone apart in school, work, and life.

John also shared three keys for success:βœ”οΈ Buy qualityβ€”you only want to buy it once.βœ”οΈ Take care of your family and your people.βœ”οΈ Most importantly, have fun!

Thank you, John Roley, for investing in our teens!

🌟 Mentor Monday at Ted Phea Boys & Girls Club 🌟

Yesterday, our members had the opportunity to hear from Sharniece Scott with the Recruitment Division of the Lubbock Police Department.

Sharniece shared her personal journey, including her education, athletic background, and passion for helping others. She spoke about the realities of law enforcement, the importance of communication and de-escalation, and the challenges and rewards of serving the community.

Our members also learned about different career opportunities within the Lubbock Police Department, including becoming a police officer, dispatcher, or working in records, as well as the training and skills required for these roles.

Thank you, Sharniece, for sharing your story and inspiring our youth to explore future career paths and opportunities to serve their community!
