Fifth edit: I am not taking down the post in the event that someone in my area may benefit from these services. But I am also not responding anymore to messages or comments asking where this is located or how to apply. The post tells the location multiple times and has a link to the website to utilize. It is open to BALDWIN COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY. AND IS LOCATED IN BALDWIN COUNTY ALABAMA. WE HAVE ONLY SHARED ANOTHER ORGANIZATIONS FLIER TO GET THE WORD OUT. WE ARE NOT THE ONES PERFORMING THE SERVICES. AND WHILE OUR RESCUE ITSELF HELPS IN MULTIPLE COUNTIES, THE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS OF THIS PROGRAM HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR RESCUE. We only shared this in our local area and it has been passed around so much that folks in other states/countries are inquiring. So as much as we appreciate that so many people need these services-we don’t have the resources to continue answering the same comments and messages that are contained in the actual post.

PLEASE VISIT THEIR LINKED WEBSITE TO SEE IF YOU QUALIFY FOR SERVICES AND TO SCHEDULE AN APPT. The post has obviously made it around and if nothing else shows that this kind of program would be beneficial in other areas of the country. Talk to your communities. Most non profits and programs such as this start with a need.

🚨🚨🚨Attention pet owners! There is no excuse at this point for oops litters. We have resources in our area (Baldwin county Alabama) to help with the cost of altering your pets! As many are asking…we are simply sharing a resource that is being offered by Safe Harbor. This is their program and we are trying to spread the word!!! Please go to their website at the link below to see if you qualify for this program and to schedule your appointment.

Sadly we as a rescue have offered NO COST appointments to local residents and only had one person take us up on the offer. THIS IS HOW WE START TO COMBAT THE PROBLEM IN OUR COUNTY. PLEASE don’t add to the unwanted and stray population in this area. Shelters and rescues are busting at the seams. Healthy animals who would make great pets are being euthanized every day to make more room in the shelters. Safe harbor is doing great things visit their site to apply

Attention loxley residents: Your county shelter is overflowing. Every rescue we know is out of space. As we have been overwhelmed ourselves for a bit-we are trying to help when and where we can. Being local to loxley, sometimes the only way in which we are able to help is to try to help control the stray and unwanted dog population.

we have some spay/neuter appointments available for city residents in need. The rescue will cover the cost of the spay neuter. The requirements are as follows:

*You must be a city of loxley resident.

*You are required to take your dog to the appointment and pick it up. (The appointment is in summerdale-dogs get dropped off by 8 am and picked up at 2 pm.

Currently have an opening for a male and a small female on 9/8. 9/15 for a male and 9/21, 9/22 for either large or small female or a male of any size.

Your dog will also be microchipped at no cost. If you know someone that is in need-please reach out. Space is limited so once these spots are filled they are filled. It’s also very important to only schedule if you can meet the requirements as they cannot be easily rescheduled. We hope to be able to help additionally in the future.

Sammy and Chloe-mother and son (9 and 7 year old) Chugs-chihuahua and pug mixes. They are in need of a foster/foster to adopt. Owner left a DV situation and returned across the pond where she was from. Broke her heart to leave her beloved dogs but did what she needed to do to remove herself. Both are fixed and house trained. They are up to date on vaccines and were loved with home cooked foods. Chloe is easy going and gets along well with other dogs. Sammy is more reserved and takes a little longer to warm up. Both are used to large yard and being outside. Please reach out if you think you can help these two get over the heartache of losing the only home they have ever known.

Anyone missing a cream colored Frenchie in the area? There was one found in the loxley area. We do not have the dog but can put you in touch with who found the dog.

Look who runs TOWARDS people instead of away from them now??? This is the difference between a dog stuck in survival mode and one that has been able to snap out of it and realize they are no longer in danger. Still working to get the hookworms under control and regulate some potty issues. But so far so good. Searching for its rightful owner if you know who it belongs to…

Edit: this dog is on a legal stray hold and not up for adoption. Once treatment for hookworms has finished and we are sure that other pets aren’t at risk-we will accept apps for fostering. However, our main focus is still trying to find its family. Please stay tuned for updates.

Do you know me??? I was found in fairhope after being spotted on my own for over a week. I don’t have a microchip but I have def been a pet. Before I wanted to be with MY people so badly that I wouldn’t let anyone near me to pet me or to take into safety out of the storms. But now I just love attention and people! I went and saw the vet today where they got rid of an awful flea and tick infestation and are treating me for a serious case of hookworms. But now that I am getting rid of all the things bothering me, I really want to go home!!! Please reach out if you know where I belong. Proof of ownership will be required to claim.

So as you can see the Cocker Spaniel was captured this morning ❤️. So far what we know is the dog is young and not microchipped 😢. While heartworm negative, the dog is loaded with hookworms and infested with fleas. The lovely staff Loxley Animal Hospital are working their magic to get this dog feeling better. We will be searching for its rightful owner as is required by law. As of right now, the dog cannot be adopted. We will however look for a foster to get this baby back on the road to recovery.

For those who were following the story of the lost cocker spaniel pup that’s been on the run for about a week or so here in Fairhope, we’re so happy to share that the pup has officially been safely trapped!

A humane trap was set up here on our back lanai yesterday, hoping that the pup might find some relief from the rain back there, and it was successful! The pup is now safe and in the care of Paw and Order Rescue Ranch!

A huge thank you to Rebecca Cherry Gardner for her expertise, patience, and dedication in setting the trap and helping bring this sweet pup to safety. We’re so grateful this dog is finally able to get the care and rest it needs after being on the run for so long in such bad weather! Edit: the amazing trapper was successful and this beauty is on the way to the vet to be checked out and for a chip!

For any of you following the what’s happening in fairhope page, there is a cocker spaniel on the loose and it has been posted for over a week. It will need to be trapped. A fellow rescuer/seasoned trapper is working hard to get him/her to safety. We have agreed to be its sponsor rescue. First order of business will be to try to find owner. But we will get it to the vet to ensure its health. Looking for a foster for this terribly skittish dog. It will need to be someone comfortable with crating (for the dogs safety) and that has a secure yard. Please reach out with any interest but understand we have absolutely NO HISTORY on this dog. We just need somewhere for it to feel safe and decompress.

Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend and parked with us for the strawberry festival. First timers or repeat customers, we greatly appreciate the support. Because of you all-we live to fight another year. Every animal we save and care for this year is made possible in part by this outstanding community and event.
