Look who runs TOWARDS people instead of away from them now??? This is the difference between a dog stuck in survival mode and one that has been able to snap out of it and realize they are no longer in danger. Still working to get the hookworms under control and regulate some potty issues. But so far so good. Searching for its rightful owner if you know who it belongs to…

Edit: this dog is on a legal stray hold and not up for adoption. Once treatment for hookworms has finished and we are sure that other pets aren’t at risk-we will accept apps for fostering. However, our main focus is still trying to find its family. Please stay tuned for updates.

Do you know me??? I was found in fairhope after being spotted on my own for over a week. I don’t have a microchip but I have def been a pet. Before I wanted to be with MY people so badly that I wouldn’t let anyone near me to pet me or to take into safety out of the storms. But now I just love attention and people! I went and saw the vet today where they got rid of an awful flea and tick infestation and are treating me for a serious case of hookworms. But now that I am getting rid of all the things bothering me, I really want to go home!!! Please reach out if you know where I belong. Proof of ownership will be required to claim.

So as you can see the Cocker Spaniel was captured this morning ❤️. So far what we know is the dog is young and not microchipped 😢. While heartworm negative, the dog is loaded with hookworms and infested with fleas. The lovely staff Loxley Animal Hospital are working their magic to get this dog feeling better. We will be searching for its rightful owner as is required by law. As of right now, the dog cannot be adopted. We will however look for a foster to get this baby back on the road to recovery.

For those who were following the story of the lost cocker spaniel pup that’s been on the run for about a week or so here in Fairhope, we’re so happy to share that the pup has officially been safely trapped!

A humane trap was set up here on our back lanai yesterday, hoping that the pup might find some relief from the rain back there, and it was successful! The pup is now safe and in the care of Paw and Order Rescue Ranch!

A huge thank you to Rebecca Cherry Gardner for her expertise, patience, and dedication in setting the trap and helping bring this sweet pup to safety. We’re so grateful this dog is finally able to get the care and rest it needs after being on the run for so long in such bad weather! Edit: the amazing trapper was successful and this beauty is on the way to the vet to be checked out and for a chip!

For any of you following the what’s happening in fairhope page, there is a cocker spaniel on the loose and it has been posted for over a week. It will need to be trapped. A fellow rescuer/seasoned trapper is working hard to get him/her to safety. We have agreed to be its sponsor rescue. First order of business will be to try to find owner. But we will get it to the vet to ensure its health. Looking for a foster for this terribly skittish dog. It will need to be someone comfortable with crating (for the dogs safety) and that has a secure yard. Please reach out with any interest but understand we have absolutely NO HISTORY on this dog. We just need somewhere for it to feel safe and decompress.

Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend and parked with us for the strawberry festival. First timers or repeat customers, we greatly appreciate the support. Because of you all-we live to fight another year. Every animal we save and care for this year is made possible in part by this outstanding community and event. Come and see us for your parking needs and support the animals in the process!! We are directly behind the park on magnolia street across from ARC. We will have parking for a $10 donation. It’s easy access just across the street to get into the festival. Look for our VW bus and signs!

2nd edit: we have had to return funds again today 🚨🚨🚨PLEASE BE CAREFUL. 🚨🚨🚨We do not enjoy seeing PayPal collect fees on all these incorrect transactions. It is LOST money that at this point would have covered the vetting for one dog. 💔💔💔

We have recently learned of a new rescue in Georgia called Paw and Order Rescue. Their email address is only two letters different than ours. This is leading to confusion in donations via PayPal and Venmo that we believe are intended for their rescue. We have gone through individually and returned payments. However, this will be next to impossible to do in the future if both organizations are raising funds simultaneously. Which let’s be honest is something we will both inevitably ALWAYS be doing! Please be careful when sending donations to ensure that your money is going where you intended. We are PayPal ([email protected]) and Venmo (-Rescue). Paw and order in Georgia has been notified as well.

Minnie was lost near loxley park and was last seen in the woods behind the boot store. Please contact us immediately with any sightings. Do not chase! She was being dog sat nearby and is unfamiliar with the area.

To our Rescue friends: I had several people looking for particular dogs. Chocolate lab (puppy that can be trained for duck hunting), min pin, and another small/mid size puppy. Please let me know if you have anything. All are amazing adoption candidates.
