Folks, we were made aware in recent days of an AI-resourced website that is specifically focused on Lowell and Solon Township. It is connected to an LLC and the information on the site has all been AI generated. Those behind it are pro-data centers.

Please be aware: It is not the work of any local community groups.

The page, which includes each of our communities in its name, has been running paid advertising of their page and are attempting to get information from local advocates to "tell both sides", they say.

Again, this site contains AI-sourced information, and lifted information from local groups and stories. We do not use generative AI and we certainly won't start as we continue to say NO to Big Tech.

📣 No community circle organizing meeting tonight! 📣

With the long holiday weekend ahead, we're cancelling our regularly scheduled meeting tonight at the library. We know a lot of folks have travel or family plans, and we hope everyone enjoys their time off!

To help everyone stay on top of what's coming up, we're sharing this updated events calendar with upcoming City, Township, and RUHL meetings so you can easily see what's ahead and plan to show up where you can.

Thank you all for continuing to stay engaged and show up! This effort takes all of us and we so appreciate the energy and commitment from every organizing group involved. See you at the next meeting!

P.S. FREE yard signs are still available! Let us know if you need one in the comments and/or send us a DM with your address for delivery.

A huge congratulations to our friends and allies at Stop Solon Township Data Center for their advocacy and work making this happen! ❤️ Well done!

Solon Township in Kent County has extended an originally six-month moratorium on data centers to a full year.

Edit to add: Since this post has been shared in multiple groups, I feel the need to add a disclaimer for folks coming along from other pages: This post was shared in the intent of being informational, and in the hope of returning signs to those who purchased them, and to perhaps prevent further thefts. Please keep the comments civil and respectful of your fellow community members and neighbors! Remember, we're all here together on this planet, in this place called Lowell (be it city or township), together.

___________
Folks: If you aren't going to be part of the solution, advocating to protect our community's public health, environment, and natural resources, certainly don't do this. 👇🏽

We received a report today of several missing signs, and previous reports in the last month. We also know other area groups have received the same.

Township Agenda Packet: https://lowell.civicweb.net/document/27273/

While the proposed 290-acre Microsoft AI data center and related items may not be the primary agenda topic, this is an important opportunity for residents to bring forward concerns, ask questions, and be heard by our local officials. We need to keep showing up and let them know how we stand together! Especially as there is added momentum, thanks to the recent City of Lowell, Michigan vote to stop water and sewer negotiations indefinitely.

If you plan to speak, please be prepared to:
🔹️Share your thoughts respectfully
🔹️Keep comments concise
🔹️Focus on local impacts and community priorities

Community engagement matters, and your voice counts!
