RTD considering eliminating one of two bus routes serving Louisville
Citing low utilization, RTD is considering eliminating Route 228, one of the two RTD bus routes serving Louisville. Route 228 connects Lafayette to Superior and Broomfield and includes stops along Highway 42, South Boulder Road, Via Appia, and McCaslin Boulevard in Louisville. To view the schedule and route map for Route 228, visit RTD's website.

Route 228 is Louisville's only public transportation serving the McCaslin corridor, where the City expects additional growth with the soon-to-open King Soopers Marketplace, planned CU development at the former Cinebarre site, and other anticipated development in Centennial Valley.

RTD is expected to vote on the proposed service changes in July, with any approved changes effective in September. The DASH bus route, which connects Boulder to Lafayette via Louisville, would not be impacted by proposed service cuts.

Make your voice heard: How to weigh in on RTD's proposed elimination of Route 228
Whether the elimination of Route 228 bus service would impact you or your family, or you just want to advocate for Louisville's access to public transportation, your feedback can help inform RTD's decision. There are multiple ways to make your voice heard:

Email the RTD Board
RTD's 15-member board Board of Directors will make the ultimate decision on whether or not to eliminate Route 228. To provide feedback via email, contact [email protected] and copy [email protected] and [email protected] (Lynn Guissinger is Louisville's representative on the RTD Board).

Use RTD's online comment form
Another option is to use RTD's online Service Planning and Development Comment Form.

By phone
