Kudos to the City of Trenton NJ - City Hall, for putting together an amazing Juneteenth event.

June 19, 1865, marks the day that the last enslaved people in the United States, were informed that they were free-more than two and half years after it already had been declared.

This delay was intentional and so is environmentalracism which is STILL happening to a majority of black and brown communities not just here in New Jersey but across the United States!
A perfect example is the siting of warehouse development mostly in communities of color due to decades old redlining policies in addition to the lack of regulation at both of our ports and warehouses which attact a tremendous amount of air pollution from the thousands of truck trips that are made daily to deliver goods to industries and communities.

Take action today on to put an end to in NJ's Goods Movement industry so that the communities today and the next generation all have access to clean air, water and a healthy environment.

We are getting ever closer to the finish line. If your legislator signed the letter already, thank them. If they haven’t signed on, it’s not too late. Ask them to let assemblywoman Collazos-Gill know that they want their name and vote to count.

Today, I joined more than 20 of my Assembly colleagues in requesting Speaker Coughlin to post the Polluters Pay to Make New Jersey More Affordable Act for a vote before the State Budget is adopted.

For too long, New Jersey taxpayers have shouldered the costs of climate-related damage. It's time for major polluters to be held accountable. This bill is ready for a vote, and I remain committed to getting it across the finish line.

Clean Water Action was a powerhouse at the State House. Passed a number of bills out of the Senate Environment Committee including Make Polluter pay (aka Climate Superfund) Act. Other bills we favored focused on reducing plastic dust at construction sites and preventing Green Acres money from being used for artificial turf. There is more work to be done to get these bills on the governor’s s desk before the NJ legislature takes their summer break starting June 30th. Take action now on Make Polluters Pay bill at https://act.cleanwater.org/page/167042/action/1?ea.tracking.id=website

Thank you Senate Environment for unanimously voting in support of prohibiting Green Acres funds for purchase, use, installation, or replacement of artificial turf. This is the first step in reducing toxic exposure from microplastics, PFAs, and thousands of toxic chemicals in artificial turf.

Artificial turf needs to be replaced by natural grass and this bill takes state funding away from artificial turf.

Thank you for protecting us!
