Flying Samaritans at CSULB will fundraise to help donate support to Flying Samaritan mission projects and services. Flying Samaritans shall also pr
ovide opportunities for its members to learn patient/provider skills and to practice foreign languages of disenfranchised communities needing medical care. Flying Samaritans at CSULB shall also seek out and promote service volunteer opportunities through local medical agencies.

Flying Samaritans at CSULB is affiliated with the Palomar Chapter of the Flying Samaritans and the Flying Samaritans Inc. California non-profit organization. Flying Samaritans Inc. is a nonprofit volunteer organization which operates free medical clinics in Baja California, Mexico. Doctors, dentists, nurses, translators, pilots and support personnel drive or fly to clinics in private aircraft. The objectives of the organization includes, but are not limited to, educating on public health issues and facilitating the administration of medical services to those in Mexico without access to health care. Flying Samaritans also represent an opportunity for pre-health students, social sciences students, and Spanish translators, to gain international volunteer experience.

This organization will also provide opportunities for association and interaction with the faculty and administration of CSULB and with the members of the community.

There are two types of membership in the organization: active and honorary.

Active members are required to attend at least one meeting or event per month and pay dues (if applicable). Active members have voting rights and must be currently enrolled CSULB students. New active members must complete and sign a membership application and submit it to the club secretary.

Any CSULB faculty, staff, and alumni who has rendered outstanding service and/or support to the organization may be conferred with honorary membership by receiving a majority vote of the organization. Honorary members are ex-officio, non-voting members.
