Summer Reading Tutoring at Stepping Stones Pediatric Therapy 📚

Summer is one of the most important times to support reading growth and prevent learning loss. Our summer tutoring sessions are designed to keep skills active, build confidence, and help students start the school year stronger.

We offer individualized 1:1 to small group sessions (up to 3 students) from July 6 through August 14, 2026. Families can choose consistent weekly time slots or flexible scheduling options based on what works best.

Afternoon sessions available:
3:00–4:00 PM | 4:00–5:00 PM | 5:00–6:00 PM | 6:00–7:00 PM (flexible/drop-in)

Sometimes kids need a quick movement break to help their bodies feel calm, organized, and ready to learn. Wall push-ups are a simple way to provide this support at home or school.

-Pressing both hands into the wall helps build shoulder and core strength.
-The resistance from pushing into the wall gives calming sensory input for better focus.
-Short “push-up breaks” before homework can support attention and task completion.
-Repeating the movement helps improve body awareness and motor control.
-This activity can be used anytime your child needs a quick reset during the day.

Remember: small movement breaks can make a big difference in helping children feel regulated and ready to participate in learning and play.

Ruth Madeley is a British actress who was born with spina bifida. This means her spine developed differently before she was born. She uses a wheelchair in her daily life.

Ruth has built a successful acting career and is known for roles in shows like Years and Years, The Rook, and Doctor Who. She was also nominated for a BAFTA for her role in Don’t Take My Baby.

She is known for being a talented actress who brings real emotion and personality to every role she plays.

Ruth also speaks up for better inclusion in TV and film. She encourages the industry to include disabled actors in many types of roles, not just stories about disability, but all kinds of stories where everyone is included.

✨ Ruth’s story shows that people with disabilities can be actors, storytellers, and leaders in entertainment, just like anyone else.

This week, one of our 7-year-olds has been working hard on impulse control and was able to regulate himself, earning multiple 10s in a target game.

At Stepping Stones Pediatric Therapy, we love highlighting community programs that support movement, independence, and joy for the families we work with.

This week we’re featuring the Adaptive Cycling Program through Granite State Adaptive 🚲

This program provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to experience cycling using specially adapted equipment such as handcycles, trikes, and tandem bikes. Sessions are designed to be supportive, inclusive, and accessible, allowing participants to build strength, coordination, and confidence while enjoying outdoor movement.

Adaptive cycling is more than exercise—it’s an empowering experience that promotes independence, participation, and fun in a community setting.
