🎃🍂 IT’S ALMOST TIME FOR THE PUMPKIN SMASH! 🍂🎃

The Lombard Junior Women’s Club is so happy to be part of bringing this fun community event back again! 💜

Bring your pumpkins next Saturday and give them one last hurrah before sending them off to be recycled! ♻️ Whether you toss, smash, or splat your pumpkin, it’s a fun way to wrap up the fall season while helping the environment!

Grab the family, bring those pumpkins, and come join the smashing fun! 🎃💥

We can’t wait to see everyone there! 💜🍁

🎃 Don’t Trash It—Smash It! Help keep pumpkins out of landfills by joining the Lombard Pumpkin Smash on Saturday, November 7th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Lombard Common east parking lot.

Instead of tossing pumpkins in the trash, bring them to be composted! Please remove candles, googly eyes, glitter, excess paint and other decorations before bringing your pumpkins to the event. These items can contaminate the compost.

Whether you participate in the Pumpkin Smash or use your own compost bin, keeping pumpkins out of landfills helps reduce waste and create nutrient-rich compost. Lombard residents can also take advantage of the Village’s Compost Bin Reimbursement Program at villageoflombard.org/188/Yard-Waste-Brush-Compost.

This free community event is hosted by the Lombard Junior Women’s Club, Lombard Park District, Village of Lombard, Kiwanis Club, Waste Management and SCARCE.

💜 THE NUMBERS ARE MORE THAN STATISTICS. THEY ARE PEOPLE.

1 in 3 women will experience physical violence by an intimate partner in her lifetime.

1 in 6 men will experience physical violence by an intimate partner in his lifetime.

Every minute, about 24 people in the United States experience intimate partner violence.

That means someone’s friend. Someone’s daughter. Someone’s son. Someone’s parent. Someone’s coworker. Someone you know.

Intimate partner violence can affect anyone—regardless of age, gender, background, or community.

💜 Awareness is the first step toward prevention.
💜 Believe survivors.
💜 Know the signs.
💜 Speak up.
💜 Help create a community where everyone feels safe and respected.

Together, we can raise awareness, support survivors, and work toward ending intimate partner violence. Love shouldn't hurt.
