Step By Step Logan County Family Support Center

Meet Shannon Stone, our Educational Support VISTA! Shannon plays an important role in supporting children and families in our community through educational programs and outreach efforts. She is passionate about helping create opportunities for children to learn, grow, and succeed.

Originally from Chapmanville, Shannon is a proud mother to two boys and is deeply dedicated to both her family and her community. Her caring nature and passion for helping others shine through in everything she does.

One of the most rewarding parts of Shannon’s role is assisting children and giving back to the community she cares so much about. We are so thankful to have Shannon as part of our Step By Step family!

WV Paths for Parents (P4P) Presents:
Parent Connect Meetings in Logan County!

A diverse group of adults drinking coffee and having casual conversation.
A new, in-person support group for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities and special health care needs is coming to Logan County!

Starting Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., join us at the Logan County Family Support Center in Logan, WV for our very first Parent Connect Meeting. These informal meetings will be a warm, welcoming space created by parents, for parents. Meetings will continue monthly on the 4th Wednesday of each month to talk, laugh, learn, and support one another.

About P4P Parent Connect Meetings:
Parent Connect Meetings are led by the Paths for Parents program at the WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities. We’re committed to providing a friendly, judgment-free space where parents and caregivers can connect, share, and grow.

Parenting a child with special health care needs or disabilities is filled with unique joys and challenges, and you don’t have to do it alone. Our meetings offer:
A welcoming community of parents and caregivers who “get it.”

Step By Step Logan County Family Support Center

Meet William Turner, our AmeriCorps Food Security VISTA! William handles all things food-related, from supporting our Family Support Center to helping with our After-School Programs. His dedication helps ensure children and families in our community have access to nutritious meals and support.

William is a proud husband and father of three children. Outside of work, he enjoys selling and trading sports cards and spending time with his family.

One of the most rewarding aspects of William’s work is knowing he is making a difference in ending child hunger—one home at a time. He is passionate about serving our community and helping families thrive.
