Bob Stahmer captured these beautiful photos of a native plant in the nature area recently! 🌸🌸🌸 Hoita macrostachya (Large Leatherroot / California H**p) grows 5 to 7 feet tall in moist areas like seasonal streams and ponds. Native tribes historically used its tough bark fibers to make rope, thread, and hunting bags.
