Did you know GoFundMe has created donation pages for over a million charitiesโ€”including UMCOR? While that might sound convenient, we encourage you to give directly instead.

Why? GoFundMe deducts fees, donor information isnโ€™t fully shared, and their terms donโ€™t align with our practices. Giving directly through the Advance ensures 100% of your gift supports the mission or ministry you choose.

Your generosity deserves transparency and we want to make sure every dollar you donate counts.

Recent storms and flooding have hit parts of Central New York hard, including areas in Madison, Herkimer, and Oneida Counties. While local volunteer teams have already helped with cleaning out homes and clearing fallen trees, many families are still in need of assistance.

Thatโ€™s why New York Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NYVOAD), Madison County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), and Herkimer-Oneida Organizations Active in Disaster (HOOAD) are teaming up to organize Service Projects during the week of July 20. Trained volunteers will lead teams to help with muck-outs and storm debris removalโ€”and we need more helping hands!

Whether you're an individual, part of a student group, church, or local club, this is a meaningful way to support those recovering from disaster.
