On June 22nd we will be hosting a FREE trade skills workshop for current & former first responders: join us for a full day of hands-on learning with Renewal by Andersen as we install windows and doors on the cabins at Runestone Ranch.

Great opportunity to learn a new skill, work with your hands, spend time outdoors, and reconnect with the satisfaction that comes from building something real. Participants will learn professional installation techniques from experienced craftsmen while contributing directly to a project that will support first responders and their families for years to come.

As a Livermore-based organization, we were honored to be part of the Livermore Rodeo this year. The Livermore Rodeo isn’t just a rodeo: it’s one of the community’s oldest traditions, dating back to 1918 when it began as a fundraiser to support war efforts during World War I. Community support and service are literally part of the Rodeo’s origin story.

It was great to see so many familiar faces, meet new friends, and connect with people who share a passion for supporting those who serve our communities. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared their story, learned about our mission, or contributed to helping us build a place where first responders can find connection, purpose, and support.

Many people talk about change, but rarely act.

Unless you’ve lost a brother or sister to su***de, experienced moral injury, or simply needed a break from the constant carnage, it’s difficult to truly understand the weight many first responders carry.

These experiences leave lasting impacts on individuals, families, and organizations.

We are blessed to partner with fellow first responder organizations that recognize this problem and are selfless enough to step forward and do something about it.

They lead not by title, but by action; giving their time, experience, and energy to help build something better for those who serve.

With the support of these organizations and community leaders, we are not waiting for someone else to solve this problem. We are building it ourselves.

We will continue creating the culture, community, and resources that first responders deserve, because no one understands this profession better than those who have lived it.

Real change happens when we stop waiting for someone else to build the solution and start building it together. We already share many resources in this community, but would love the chance to continue building this network.

We’re grateful for those who use their platform to bring attention to issues that matter: every conversation helps shine a light on the realities first responders face and the need for proactive, peer-driven support before crisis occurs.
We’re doing the work. We’re having the conversations. And we’re building a place where first responders can reconnect, recharge, and support one another through shared experience.

Today, and members of the Santa Clara Fire Department rolled up their sleeves to help build the future first responder lodging cabins at Runestone Ranch.

Not only did they help build these cabins with their own hands, but they also presented Runestone Ranch with a $60,000 donation to help turn this vision into reality and strengthen the future of first responder readiness.

Every board placed and every hour volunteered brings us one step closer to creating a place where first responders can reconnect, recharge, and support one another while helping reshape a culture that too often suffers in silence.

The future of first responder wellness is being built by those who have walked the path themselves and we are forever grateful for our partnership.

Thanks to , one of our founders had the opportunity to visit Ho’ōhanu and experience firsthand how they support the wellness of EMS, paramedic, and fire service professionals in Hawaii.

The goal was to learn from one another, build relationships, and explore opportunities to bring these concepts to California while expanding them involve law enforcement professionals.

Throughout the weekend, participants engaged in hiking, outrigger canoe paddling, Lomi Lomi massages, discussions on self-disclosure and vulnerability, and practical wellness tools designed to help first responders better understand and regulate the effects of cumulative stress.

A special mahalo to for facilitating powerful grounding experiences through the ocean, teamwork, and connection. Paddling together served as a reminder that resilience is often built alongside others.

If you’re a first responder in Hawaii, or frequently find yourself on the islands, we encourage you to connect with Ho’ōhanu and the incredible organizations supporting wellness across Hawaii.
