Drum Major: 12 grade students or 11th grade Student who exemplifies leadership , citizenship, and academic excellence
Drums majors will be young ladies who are seniors in High School. They exemplify leadership qualities

• No disciplinary referrals occurred at school
• Politeness, courtesy, graciousness, and kindn

3. They maintain academic excellence with a GPA of at least 3.0 or greater
Role of the drum major:
The role of the drum major is to first be a peer mentor to the younger participants in C.A.Y.A. They will help lead the younger participants in academic studies, conflict resolution, personal choices, and are also responsible for peer mediation. The drum major is the leader of the group and they are responsible for being a role model of behavior, etiquette, academics, and life choices. This is a very important role to be respected by all who participate in the CAYA program. When in public settings, the Drum Major leads the group in formation lines into and out of whatever setting we are in at the time. The drum major is responsible for making sure all participants are properly dressed for any occasion or activity that we are taking part in and to make sure proper etiquette is displayed at all times. The drum major will also be responsible for creating steps and chants to be used during formation and as an eye catching and attention getting tactic to show our community that youth are capable of being disciplined, neatly dressed, polite, intelligent, and task oriented. Discipline being the more important of these points. Diamond Girls
The Diamond girls will be made up of 7-11 graders. The Diamond Girls are the young ladies who are being refined. The Diamond Girls creed is: We are being shaped and molded, so that in the end, we shine bright like a diamond. These young ladies will be those who have to withstand the greatest pressure because they are being shaped and molded from a lump of coal to a beautiful and sparkling diamond.
