FRIDAY FACT

Did you know? Florida law recognizes that sibling relationships can provide children in foster care with an important sense of continuity, connection, and emotional support during times of uncertainty?

Imagine being a child entering foster care and facing a new home, unfamiliar surroundings, and so many changes. Now imagine having your brother or sister beside you through it all.

At Everyday Blessings, keeping siblings together is at the heart of our mission. Since 2010, we have served nearly 900 children and 400 sibling groups, working to preserve those important family connections whenever possible.

Because a brother or sister can be more than family. They can be a familiar face, a shared memory, and a connection to home when everything else feels different.

This Friday, remember: Sometimes, one of the greatest gifts we can give a child is the chance to face change with someone who shares their story.

Did you know? In 2024, 15,379 young people aged out of foster care in the United States.

That number represents thousands of young people facing adulthood without the traditional safety net many of us rely on when starting out.

Finding housing, managing money, pursuing education, and securing employment can be challenging for any young adult. For those transitioning from foster care, having guidance, practical life skills, and supportive connections can make a meaningful difference.

That is why the work of Everyday Blessings matters beyond childhood.

Through Springboard, our program for young adults ages 17–22, we help young people build the skills and confidence they need as they work toward independence.

Because turning 18 doesn't mean someone suddenly has all the answers. Growing into adulthood takes preparation, opportunity, and people who believe in your potential.

This Friday, remember: independence is not just about learning to stand on your own. It's also about having the support to build a strong foundation.
