NAMI Columbiana County OH What We Do at NAMI OHIO

NAMI works to inspire a move away from illness, stigma and ignorance toward brighter days filled with hope, health, and recovery.

NAMI Columbiana County’s mission is to improve the quality of life and ensure dignity and respect for persons with serious mental illness and other support to their families and close friends. We educate. Offered in thousands of communities across the United States through NAMI State Organizations and NAMI Affiliates, our education programs ensure hundreds of thousands of families, individuals and

educators get the support and information they need. We advocate. NAMI shapes the national public policy landscape for people with mental illness and their loved ones and provides volunteers with the tools, resources, and skills necessary to promote mental health in all states. We listen. Through the toll-free NAMI Help Line, we respond to thousands of requests each year and provide free referrals, information, and support—a much-needed lifeline for many. Just call 1-800-950-6264. We lead. Awareness events and activities, including Mental Health Month, Mental Illness Awareness Week and NAMI Walks successfully fight stigma and encourage understanding. NAMI works with the media and policymakers to make sure our country understands how important mental health is. May we count on you to join us? Your membership dues and generous donations help us keep programming free. Become a NAMI member at all three levels of the organization—national, state and local—with one payment! We have three membership rates depending on what makes the most sense for you:

$60 per year for a Household membership that includes all members of a household living at the same address
$40 per year for a Regular membership which is an individual membership for one person
$5 per year for an Open-Door membership for an individual member with limited financial resources

Mental health is just as important as physical health.
Not just something to agree with… something to actually practice.

Taking care of your mental health can look like:
• setting boundaries
• asking for support
• taking breaks without guilt
• checking in with yourself, even on the “good” days
