For those of us who have lived in Columbiana over the past 4 decades, you will no doubt remember that this old gas station has been an eyesore and completely unproductive during that time.

The Columbiana County Land Bank was awarded a $250,000 grant to cleanup this property so that it is no longer an eyesore and can be brought back into productive use in the downtown.

As part of the project, 4 underground storage tanks and one fuel dispensing pump island were removed. Other items, such as hydraulic lifts were removed from the building.

300 cubic yards of contaminated soil was collected and removed offsite to a landfill in Lodi, Ohio. Site assessment activities are ongoing and we expect approval for future occupancy and use soon.

We would like to thank the City of Columbiana and RDLANDCO, LLC for being partners in this project. We would also like to thank Tetra Tech, our environmental consultants, for their work and expertise.

The pollinator garden at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds was inaugurated this morning.

This garden was made possible, in part, by a $3,500 grant from the Columbiana County Land Bank to the Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce.

Among those attending the ceremony were County Commissioner and Land Bank Board President Mike Halleck, Columbiana County Commissioner, County Commissioner Tim Weigle , Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson, and Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce President Susan Shank.

Coming April 13th at the SOD Center in Salem (440 Pennsylvania Avenue, Salem, Ohio), CCPA, in conjunction with Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition and Sustainable Opportunity Development Center, inc., will be hosting a Hiring Event with 30+ employers, regional training organizations, and workforce development organizations.
Employers will represent a variety of fields, including healthcare, manufacturing, and technology. We hope to see you there!

Requesting Commercial and Residential Properties for Demolition.

Do you own, or do you know of, any commercial or residential property in the county that needs to be torn down?

The property must be vacant and blighted. The owner may maintain ownership, but must provide the Land Bank with the right to enter onto the property and do the tear down and all related activities.

The Land Bank successfully applied for a $250,000 grant to help clean up a former gas station property in the heart of Columbiana that has been underutilized for decades.

After this approximately two-year project is complete, this parcel will be back in productive use, making a positive economic and aesthetic impact for the city.
