With heavy hearts, we invite our community to join us in celebrating the life and legacy of our beloved founder, Pastor Bud Christenson, faithful servant, mentor, and friend to so many.

Pastor Bud dedicated his life to loving others, restoring hope, and walking beside those seeking a second chance. His vision and compassion created a ministry that continues to change lives every day.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held: Saturday, June 13th
10:30 AM
Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney Rd
Lincoln, Nebraska

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to Bridges to Hope to continue the incredible work Pastor Bud began and to help carry forward the dreams and mission he held so close to his heart.

Please continue to keep the Christenson family and the Bridges to Hope community in your prayers as we honor a man whose impact will live on for generations.

It is with a heavy heart that we say "so long for now" to Pastor Bud Christenson. He was so much more than simply the founder of Bridges to Hope! He was a mentor, friend and father figure to so many, especially me! He taught me so much as he passed the torch to me to carry on his dreams. His legacy will live on forever! Until we see you again! You will be missed by all! 🙏🏻❤️

Give to Bridges to Hope: givetolincoln.com/nonprofits/bridges-to-hope

Bridges to Hope is a Lincoln nonprofit that supports individuals across Nebraska who have been justice involved. For over 17 years, we’ve provided clothing, furniture, household items, and hygiene products at no cost to help create successful new beginnings and promote second chances.

Bud’s Thrift Shoppe located on O Street serves as an ongoing fundraiser for Bridges to Hope, selling new and gently used clothing, furniture, and household goods. Thanks to Bud’s, we can ensure that 100% of donations are used to benefit Bridges to Hope!

Hope Village, located on N 27th and Leighton Avenue is the first tiny home village of its kind in Lincoln, providing permanent supportive housing for 18 individuals or small families. Hope Village will provide stability, education, training, and support, helping residents to become contributing members of society, promoting success and dignity.

Bridges to Hope’s new Full Circle Youth Prevention Program it’s the first of its kind, designed to break the generational cycle of incarceration. The program will utilize the evidence based circle of security model to strengthen attachment and foster resilience. Children in grades two through five and their caregivers will gain the tools to succeed, academically, develop healthy, relationships, and build confidence in their ability to shape a brighter future.
