What is VCAP?

The Verified Conformity Assessment Program (VCAP) is a program implemented by the National Council on Weights and Measures to ensure continued compliance of certain device types with environmental requirements. These device types are ones for which performance can be affected by changes in their physical environment. The intent of the VCAP is to provide assurance that these devices perform at a level equal to or better than the device that was evaluated by NTEP.

That’s a wrap!

Our third and final EVSE Training for Weights and Measures Officials and Service Agents was a great success. Held in Annapolis, Maryland. The training brought professionals together to strengthen their knowledge of electric vehicle supply equipment.

Thank you to everyone who participated, instructed, and helped make this final session a success. ⚡🚗

This morning, NCWM’s very own Brian Maser joined the Lincoln Police Department, Lincoln Fire & Rescue, ROTC, and other community members for the annual stair climb at Memorial Stadium.

Together, they climbed in honor and remembrance of those who lost their lives 25 years ago on September 11, 2001. You can spot Brian a few times in the video, working hard as he makes his way up and down those steps!

We’re proud of Brian for participating in this meaningful tribute. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Please join us in welcoming Paul Floyd as the new NCWM Chair-Elect!

Paul serves as Director of the Weights and Measures Division within the Office of Agro-Consumer Services at the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. He began his weights and measures career as an inspector in 2002 and worked his way through the ranks to his current leadership role.

A graduate of Louisiana State University, Paul holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences. His service to NCWM includes membership on the NTEP Committee and Cannabis Task Group, as well as a completed term on the Professional Development Committee, which he chaired in 2023.

Paul is also an active member of the Southern Weights and Measures Association. He previously chaired the SWMA Professional Development Committee and currently serves on its Member Education and Mentoring Subcommittee.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys pitching for the LDAF softball team, homebrewing, playing drums in a local band, cheering on the LSU Tigers, and spending time with his wife, Julie, and their son, Owen.

Congratulations, Paul! We look forward to the experience, dedication, and leadership you will bring to your new role.
