First, thank you to everyone who continues to support our veterans through Love A Michigan Vet. Your kindness makes a real difference.

I have a small favor to ask. While we are always grateful for food donations, we have very limited storage space. Gift cards are often the most helpful way to support our monthly veteran dinners because they allow us to purchase exactly what is needed when it is needed.

Gift cards from:

• Meijer
• Walmart
• Target
• Amazon

help us provide meals, beverages, desserts, plates, cups, napkins, and utensils for approximately 50 veterans each month.

A full dinner costs about $700, and every gift card—whether it's $10, $25, $50, or more—helps us get one step closer to feeding those who have served our country.

Every month, our nonprofit serves dinner to veterans at the shelter. It’s more than just a meal. It’s comfort, dignity, community, and a reminder that they are not forgotten.

With rising food costs, it’s becoming harder to continue these monthly dinners, but they mean so much to the veterans we serve.

We are currently looking for individuals, businesses, restaurants, bakeries, or community partners willing to help sponsor a dinner, donate a meal, provide a protein, sides, desserts, or make a monetary contribution. Every little bit helps.

If you or your business would like to give back to those who once served us, please reach out. Sometimes a warm meal and kindness can mean everything to someone going through a difficult time. ❤️🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or a celebration — it is a day of remembrance for those who never made it home.

We honor the heroes who gave their lives so we could live in freedom, and we hold close the families who carry that loss every single day. Behind every folded flag is a story of courage, love, sacrifice, and service.

May we never forget the cost of our freedom.
May we speak their names, honor their memory, and live with gratitude because of what they gave for us all.

I’m still taking this in… 💙
This morning, Love a Michigan Vet Project was honored by Volunteers of America with the Volunteer Hero Award. The Volunteers of America honored us—but the true honor is being able to serve those who have done so much for us.
But this isn’t mine. This belongs to our veterans—their strength, their resilience—and to every volunteer who shows up time and time again.
For over 12 years, we’ve shared meals, handed out coats and boots, and most importantly, reminded our veterans that they are seen and not forgotten.
The real honor is being able to serve those who have given so much for all of us.
My volunteers… you are my backbone. I love you all. 🙏

Served dinner at the veteran shelter.
We had a special guest come join us to serve. PetSuites Novi have been collecting items for the shelter.
They brought their donations and came to serve as well!!

A huge thank you to them. They are a Donation site if you would like to drop off there. :-)

We have a new community partner. :-)

They were kind enough to offer to help our country's heros! They are collecting items for the veteran shelter.
