So interesting how lactation support in the right places can make a huge difference!

A review article examined the role of International Board Certified Lactation Consultant support in outpatient settings after birth. One of the studies included in this review was Dr. Witt's article "Integrating routine lactation consultant support into a pediatric practice." This study, along with the others 6 studies analyzed in the review article supports the findings that early IBCLC support within the first 2 weeks postpartum improves breastfeeding duration and exclusivity.
As we approach World Breastfeeding Week, and work to "Strengthen What Works," encouraging primary care practices to integrate breastfeeding support into their outpatient visits is critical.
We are proud to collaborate with Senders Pediatrics and offer IBCLC care to all breastfeeding families at their initial newborn visits after hospital discharge!

Maternal mental health is essential to the well-being of both parents and babies. IBCLCs provide skilled, compassionate lactation care that can ease challenges, build confidence, and support emotional well-being. On World Maternal Mental Health Day, we recognise the vital role that IBCLCs play in supporting families during critical times.

I love this! So many think milk volume should be very large.

I love this! So many think milk volume should be very large.

These are acceptable amounts of milk to express in three different situations.

1. After feeding: 0.5-2.0oz | 15-60ml
2. Expressing instead of nursing: 2-4oz | 60-120ml
3. Exclusively expressing milk: 24-30oz | 720-900ml per 24 hours
*These numbers are for lactating people 6 weeks or more postpartum

Don't compare yourself to the bottles full of human milk you see in social media pictures, they are exceptions to the rule. If you are expressing less than these numbers, please reach out to us. We can be reached in the comments, via message or by phone (hit the call button our bio).

Consider helping this adorable little girl!

TRIGGER WARNING 🔫‼️😏

We’ve been absolutely lucky to get to know Cedar & her family over the last few years. They are some of the kindest people and so incredibly deserving of support 💕

Cedar has cerebral palsy, a neurological condition that affects movement, muscle tone, and coordination. Many kids with CP benefit greatly from intensive therapy programs that focus on strengthening the brain-body connection, improving mobility, and building independence.

These programs are week-long, highly focused therapy intensives, often involving several hours of therapy each day. They can make a huge difference in progress — but they also come with a significant cost, especially when you factor in travel, lodging, and the therapy itself.

If you can, consider purchasing a raffle ticket (or a bunch!) to enter to win a Kimber 1911 🔫

🎟️ Raffle Tickets: $20 each

OH & did I mention you don’t just get one shot (😎) to win… but TWO — because two Kimber 1911s are being raffled off!

When you purchase a raffle ticket, you’re not just entering to win — you’re also supporting this sweet girl and her family to provide Cedar with these life-changing intensive therapy sessions 💛

If you’re unable to use Venmo and prefer cash, you can drop it off at my office and we will gladly pass it along to the family.

Thank you for helping support this amazing little girl and showing what our TCWS community can do 💕

Please share with your family & friends!
