Some computer models are increasing my confidence in Sunday morning rain. IF it rains in the morning, rain chances will be lower in the afternoon.

If the morning stays dry, there's a HIGHER rain chance for the afternoon t-storms. I'm raising rain chances to 30%.

Our better rain chances get started this afternoon (Thursday) and could linger into the late evening.

Gotta get HOT first. 100-103° and a stale/light wind at the surface will be just as nauseating as you felt yesterday, but that is the energy storms will need to get off the ground.

It starts in the mid to late afternoon with widely scattered storms swinging through. Some of those could produce gusty downburst winds like a few of you experienced yesterday.

Much lower confidence on what could come our way in the evening timeframe, but our most reliable data is suggesting a bigger complex of storms trying to swing through in the mid/late evening hours. Not totally out of the question that it produces some isolated severe wind gusts if it happens, though we don't officially have a severe weather threat from the Storm Prediction Center.

Should be some exciting times in a few spots later today.

POSSIBLE EDOUARD INCREASES HEAVY RAIN & FLOOD RISK FOR SE TEXAS🌧️🌀⚠️what could become Tropical Storm Edouard in the northern Gulf is expected to bring heavy rain and a growing flood risk to the Upper Texas Coast and parts of Southeast Texas this week, especially from late Monday through Wednesday. A widespread 3-5 inches of rain is likely across parts of the region, with localized amounts around 7 inches possible where the heaviest rain bands repeatedly move over the same areas. Tuesday currently appears to have the greatest flood risk. Regardless of whether this system becomes a named tropical storm before reaching the coast, heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding will remain the primary concerns. Farther inland, uncertainty remains. It is still unclear how much tropical moisture will spread into Central and North Texas later in the week. That will depend heavily on how organized and intense the system becomes, as well as its eventual track after moving inland🌧️🌀⚠️

🚨A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southeastern Williamson, northeastern Bastrop and central Lee Counties through 7:00 PM

At 6:08 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Fedor, or near Lexington, moving west at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lexington, Tanglewood, Fedor, Knobb Springs, Blue, Leo, Old Dime Box, McDade, Lincoln, Butler, Cedar Hills, and Manheim.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
