🏕️ Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 110 — Castle Hills
Adventure, Friendship, and Fun for Boys & Girls in Grades K–5
Pack 110 is a proud Cub Scout pack based in Castle Hills, welcoming boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade (and regardless of elementary school). We're a fun, non-denominational pack open to any family in the community looking for a values-driven place for their kids to grow, make friends, and build confidence.
With about 60 Scouts and counting, we're a close-knit but growing Pack, and we'd love for your family to be part of it!
🎯 What is Cub Scouting?
Cub Scouting is one of the best-known youth development programs in the country, built around a simple idea: kids learn best by doing. Through hands-on activities, outdoor adventures, and hometown fun, Scouts build character, learn practical skills, and develop into confident leaders. Along the way they earn badges, make lifelong friends, and have a genuine blast doing it.
At Pack 110, we keep things casual and welcoming. We're not about perfection or pressure; we're about showing up, having fun, and teaching kids through real experience, mentorship, and community.
🏆 Pack Traditions & Signature Events
Every year, our Scouts look forward to a lineup of Pack favorites that combine competition, creativity, and just plain fun:
Pinewood Derby — Scouts design, carve, and race their own wooden cars down our official track in a friendly, high-energy competition. It's equal parts engineering lesson and family bonding project, and it's one of the most beloved traditions in all of Scouting.
Raingutter Regatta — Our version of a boat race, using wind-powered sailboats and, you guessed it, actual rain gutters as the racecourse. Scouts build, decorate, and race their own boats in a splashy, competitive showdown.
Spring & Fall Campouts — Twice a year, our Pack heads outdoors for weekend campouts filled with hiking, campfires, s'mores, and the kind of unstructured outdoor time kids don't get enough of anymore. These trips are a cornerstone of the Scouting experience.
✨ Beyond the Basics: Special Pack Adventures
Because we like to keep things exciting, we also organize and participate in multiple one-off adventures throughout the year, including:
Overnight campouts at the Fort Worth Zoo — Scouts get to sleep among the animals for a truly unforgettable night.
NASA sleepovers — Space-themed overnight adventures that spark curiosity in science and exploration.
Bike rodeos — Fun, skills-based events that teach bike safety while letting kids show off on two wheels.
Community service projects — Real opportunities for Scouts to give back and see the impact of their efforts firsthand.
Scout Days @ Medieval Times — A themed Pack outing full of knights, castles, and chivalry, giving our Scouts a taste of history while having a great time together as a Pack.
Scout Night with the Texas Rangers — Scouts and families head to the ballpark for a night of baseball, cheering, and Pack camaraderie.
Scout Night with the Frisco RoughRiders — Minor league baseball fun right in our backyard, complete with all the ballpark traditions kids love.
Scout Night with the Dallas Stars — Scouts hit the ice (well, the stands) to cheer on the Stars at a hockey game built just for our Pack.
Scout Night with the Allen Americans — Another hometown hockey outing full of fast action and Pack spirit.
Visits from special guest performers— Special guest performers bring wonder and excitement straight to Pack meetings.
Animal adventures — Up-close encounters with animals that bring science and nature to life for our Scouts.
Trips to area parks & nature preserves — Getting Scouts outdoors to explore, hike, and appreciate the natural world close to home.
🧭 Building Leaders, One Scout at a Time
Cub Scouting isn't just about fun and games (though there's plenty of that). It's about giving kids the tools to become confident, capable leaders. Through den meetings, Pack events, and rank advancement, Scouts learn teamwork, problem-solving, public speaking, and responsibility. They take on leadership roles, support their fellow Scouts, and build the kind of character that sticks with them well beyond their Cub Scout years.
🤝 A Non-Denominational, All-Are-Welcome Pack
Pack 110 is a non-denominational Cub Scout Pack. Scouting's values of kindness, honesty, and service resonate across every background and belief system, and our Pack reflects that. Whatever your family's background, there's a place for your Scout with us.
📅 Meetings
We keep a simple rhythm so families can plan ahead:
Pack Meetings (all grades, all together) happen once a month.
Den Meetings (grouped by grade) also happen once a month, typically offset from Pack Meetings by 1–2 weeks.
This mix gives Scouts the chance to build close friendships within their own grade at Den Meetings, while also coming together as one big Pack family each month.
