Homes of Hope extracurricular scholarships!

Homes of Hope has received funds to reimburse local foster families for the cost of after-school sports clubs and family activities.
If you have a foster child (traditional, kinship, guardianship) enrolled in a school or community sport, club, or activity, you can request a scholarship in the form of reimbursement.

Do Hope Room items provided by Homes of Hope stay with the caregiver or go with the foster child in the event they move on from that home?
Answer:
Anything provided by Homes of Hope stays with the foster child it was requested for if the child moves to a new placement. This could include clothing, personal items, furniture, beds, bedding, strollers, car seats, etc.

Recently, we got to sit down with The Valley Edit and tell a little bit of our story. We talked about the origins of Homes of Hope, our values, and the ways we serve our area's most vulnerable population.
We shared some of our hopes for the future of this organization and the ways we would like to be able to expand our services and reach in the future.
We are so thankful for the opportunity to share Homes of Hope’s mission with Dani and can't wait to share more with the community soon!

Thanks to our grants, Hopes of Hope is pleased to have supplied one local foster child with an extracurricular scholarship for volleyball this fall! We were able to reimburse the foster family for the cost of registration and equipment to play on a school team.

We are happy we were able to make participating in a team-building activity possible!

Did you know the Homes of Hope extracurricular scholarships help foster families pay for things like:

Family Aquatic Center passes - Jr. Cougs - Jr. Joes Kids Club passes - LC Ice Arena passes - and so much more!

Normalcy and new family activities are so important for children and youth going through the foster system. These positive and impactful experiences will help them grow and create lasting memories.

As the weather gets cooler, the needs of our fostering community change to reflect that.
Recently, our Hope Room requests have been about getting our local kids cool-weather clothes, coats, hats, and gloves for the coming colder days.

We are so happy to supply these items and make the cool fall days more fun!

A young person in an Extended Foster Care program is working hard to build an independent life and is in need of a gently used vacuum cleaner for their home.

If you have one you'd be willing to donate, we would be incredibly grateful. Gifts like these help our youth create safe, healthy, and comfortable living spaces while they focus on education, employment, and their future goals.

Sometimes everyday items can make the biggest difference.

Recently, we got a request from a caregiver about a foster teen placement she had just received the day before. This teen was in dire need of support in the form of new supplies and clothes.

We sprang into action, and from our Hope Room were able to quickly provide new clothes, a backpack, school supplies, and new shoes, as well as gift cards for the teen to shop for other items she needed in order to start school.

We wanted to share the kind words we received from the caregiver, letting us know what they were able to buy for the teen and how much the help was appreciated!
