Another Triple C Support Group is right around the corner on June 16, 2026! This FREE online support group is facilitated by Cheryl Allman, our Director of Counseling and is open to caregivers raising children through foster care, guardianship, kinship care, fictive kinship care or adoption. This group meets once a month to learn and discuss various topics. In April and May, we had the opportunity to partner with several families through our brief family counseling and our online support groups! A total of 5 hours of counseling support were provided and 6 caregivers attended our online support group in these two months! For many caregivers, these counseling resources are a lifeline as they navigate the complexities of parenting children with trauma. Every placement impacts a child. Due to this, it is important to help a child who’s been moved around during their early years to understand their personal story. Disrupted placements mean leaving caregivers, meeting new adults who relate to the child differently and increasing the chance a child will take longer to “feel safe” in a new home, even when they are cared for by loving caregivers.

Our licensed counselors use evidence-based methods to assist children in knowing their personal journey. Children learn it was not their fault that they were moved, and that now things are different in their lives. Being able to tell their story in a coherent way is the foundation for a young person’s mental health.
