Check out UGM’s top needs for September!

Every month, our shelters and services have specific needs that help us care for men, women, and children in our community. We’re grateful for the generosity of our community, which helps us meet immediate needs and support individuals as they work toward a new life. If you’d like to help, consider donating an item from our August needs list!

Please drop off shelter-specific donations directly at the shelter or location, where that need was requested, so we can make sure your donation gets to the people who need it most. (Drop off days are Monday through Friday)

Since opening our doors, the UGM LC Valley Shelter has welcomed 301 individuals—138 single men, 108 single women, 15 mothers, and 40 children.

We’ve seen residents take meaningful steps toward stability and lasting change. Four men have transitioned into UGM’s 18–24 month recovery program in Spokane, one woman has enrolled in the Spokane recovery program, and one mother with her two children is preparing to enter the CDA recovery program. Additionally, 15% of residents who entered unemployed have secured employment, while 70% of residents who have exited the shelter have transitioned into safe housing.

LC Valley, thank you for welcoming UGM and supporting this ministry. Your prayers, generosity, and partnership are helping provide hope, opportunity, and a pathway toward a brighter future for our neighbors!

In our first six months, the UGM LC Valley Shelter has served 19,004 meals to men, women, and children in our community. That’s an average of 3,167 meals each month and more than 105 meals every single day.

But these numbers represent so much more than meals. Each meal is an opportunity to offer a safe place, meaningful connection, and a pathway toward stability, healing, and hope. UGM believes food and shelter are crucial, but lasting change means going deeper and caring for the whole person.

LC Valley, we could not have done these first six months without you. Your generosity, prayers, donations, volunteer hours, and partnership have made this ministry possible. Because this Mission is supported by the generosity of the community, every person who comes alongside UGM plays a part in making life change available to our neighbors in need.

Thank you for welcoming UGM into the LC Valley and for standing with us as we continue providing a pathway out of homelessness and sharing the love and hope of Christ. We are grateful for all God has done in these first six months, and we look forward to what He will continue to do through this community.

Thank you, Undersheriff Richards, for taking the time to tour our facility and learn more about how UGM serves our community!

We’re grateful for the opportunity to build strong partnerships and maintain open communication with local law enforcement as we work together to serve and strengthen our community.

Today, Undersheriff Richards had the opportunity to visit the Union Gospel Mission and spend some time with Community Outreach Coordinator Chase Klappenbaugh and Director Jeremy Stevens.

The Union Gospel Mission provides some incredible services to people in our community, including shelter, meals, recovery programs, and resources to help people get back on their feet and move toward long-term stability.

It was great getting a chance to tour the facility, learn more about the services they provide, and talk about the challenges they’re seeing in our community. Partnerships and open communication between law enforcement and organizations like the Union Gospel Mission are important, especially when we’re working with people who are homeless, struggling with addiction, or simply going through a difficult time.

A big thank you to Chase and Jeremy for taking the time to show us around and for everything they and their team do for our community.
