Levittown Community Action Coalition

Levittown Community Action Coalition To create a safe, healthy and secure community for children and adults where untimely deaths and lives affected by addiction are reduced, through prevention

Founded in 2015, Levittown Community Action Coalition (LCAC) is comprised of a dedicated group of representatives from schools, police and fire departments, hospitals, libraries, counseling centers, businesses, clergy, and non-profits in the Levittown, Island Trees, and surrounding communities working together to reduce substance misuse and prevent underage drinking through recognition, education,

and awareness. LCAC’s vision is to support a community where residents feel safe, valued, connected and empowered to respond to life’s challenges without resorting to the use and abuse of alcohol, opiates, or other drugs. In pursuit of this goal, community outreach programs, training and events provide residents with the necessary tools to reduce substance misuse through recognition, education, and awareness. For more information about LCAC, visit www.lcacoalition.org.

This February, members of the Levittown Community Action Coalition and Levittown YOUTH had the opportunity to attend CADCA’s National Leadership Forum in Maryland. Along with YES Community Counseling Center’s HAP and MTAC teams, LCAC members attended educational workshops, met with members of our Congress, and connected with coalitions from across the nation. What a wonderful way to advocate!

August 21st is National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day. Visit the link in our bio for more information about fentanyl and other drugs.

Fentanyl is a potent prescription drug that can treat severe pain, but it is also made and distributed illegally. When fentanyl is made and distributed illegally, it is often mixed with other drugs such as OxyContin, Adderall, Vicodin, and Xanax, misleading buyers into thinking they are purchasing genuine medications. These drugs can cause overdose and death. Spread awareness about the dangers of fentanyl today to promote safety and protect our communities.
