From the LAMS office…..
Good afternoon, parent and guardians of the Lehighton Area Middle School students. We are looking forward to a new school year, but wanted to quickly share some information with you in case you’re new to the district and we’re not able to attend the student orientation last week.
1/ All students need to be in their homeroom by 7:28am to avoid being tardy.
2/ Student drop off in the morning — parents who are dropping their student off in the morning should drop off in the following locations:
- 6th & 7th grade in the North Lot (these doors are open from 7:15-7:26).
- 8th grade in the Faculty lot (doors open 7:15-7:26).
- If you have a student in two different grades and one of them is a 8th grader, you may drop them both off in the main faculty lot.
- Any student dropped off after 7:26 will need to come through the main office.
3/ Students eating breakfast in the morning may enter the building as early as 7:00am.

4/ For the first day of school, there will be additional staff at each entrance in the event your student does not know where to go. Please reassure your students we are here to guide them as their first day of school, especially if this is your students first year in the Middle School, could feel a little overwhelming. We want to make sure their first day goes as smoothly as possible. And the office is always open to answer any questions students or parents may have.
5/ All students will receive another copy of their schedule in homeroom on Monday morning, and their homeroom teachers will go over the schedule again in case students have any questions.
6/ In the afternoon, if your student is a “parent pick up” (which means they are not walking nor taking the bus, instead they’re being picked up by a parent or guardian), that will take place at dismissal at 2:26pm in the south lot, which is located between the middle school and the old football field. Parents are to form a line along the exterior perimeter of the south parking lot, and once you get to the south entrance doors and your student sees you, at that point your child will come to your car. Please do not park in any of the parking spots as this procedure is in place for the safety of your child.
7/ Students will receive their Chromebook on the first day of school, as well as paper information on MySafeArrival, PowerHub, and PTO’s Membership Drive.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the middle school office. Keep in mind the PTO is run by parents and not middle school employees so they can only answer questions pertaining to PTO events. We encourage you to contact the middle school office directly for accurate information.
Last but not least, here are some important upcoming dates:
Aug. 27 - Meet the Tribe Night @ 7:00pm (HS Multipurpose Stadium)
Sept. 4 & 7 - Labor Day Holiday
Sept. 9 - Picture Day for LAMS students (order forms will be sent home the week before and additional information will also be posted on the Middle School website closer to Picture Day)
We wish your middle school student a great school year. We look forward to seeing new faces as well as our returning students.
