The 20/20 Circle has selected Turning Point of Lehigh Valley to receive this year's $6,000 grant! 🎉

Members voted to support Turning Point's Carbon County Outreach & Education project, which will help local residents learn about available domestic violence services and support the organization's efforts to establish a satellite office in Carbon County.

We're also grateful to Bill and Carol Allison for their additional support of Dimmick Memorial Library's Microfilm Digitization Project, helping preserve Carbon County's historical newspapers for future generations.

We’re looking forward to gathering with our members for tomorrow's 20/20 Circle Annual Meeting & Grants Dinner! 💙💚

Since launching in 2018 with just 42 people, the 20/20 Circle has grown to 150+ members strong!

So how does it work?
Members make a one-time $1,000 contribution (payable over up to four years, or just $21/month), pooling their giving to support local nonprofits. Membership is for life and includes complementary tickets to the annual meeting, where members hear presentations from local organizations and vote to award that year's grant from the 20/20 Circle Fund.

Give. Gather. Make an Impact. That's what the 20/20 Circle is all about!

With the recent announcement that Toys for Tots will not be serving Carbon County this year, many people have been wondering how local families will be supported this holiday season.

As we’ve been talking with organizations across the region about how we as a Community Foundation can respond and support, we connected with Carbon County Christmas Help, a resource bringing information about local efforts together in one place.

Founded by Palmerton native Cindy Berger, the page is a growing directory of collections, organizations, and resources—and Cindy is continually updating it to help people find where they can give or get help.

👉 Follow Carbon County Christmas Help for updates, and if you know of a resource that should be included, reach out to Cindy through the page.

We’ve been heartened by the many organizations, businesses, churches, community groups, and individuals who are already stepping up to help. When there is a need, Carbon County comes together. And that generosity and willingness to help our neighbors is something special. ❤️🎄

We were pleased to sponsor to sponsor this morning’s State of the County event hosted by the Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Corporation.

We appreciated hearing from speakers representing education, government, energy and infrastructure, and real estate and gaining a broader look at the opportunities and challenges shaping Carbon County.

Staying informed about what’s happening across our community helps all of us better understand where we are today — and where we’re headed next. A stronger Carbon County starts with people who are informed, connected, and engaged!

Thank you to the Carbon Chamber for bringing community and business leaders together for an informative morning!

The end of September was filled with opportunities to connect, learn, and share ideas with others who care deeply about our communities. 💙💚

From bringing nonprofit and community leaders together for our Stronger Together breakfast with the Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Corporation, to sharing ideas with fellow nonprofit professionals at the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) Conference, to connecting with community foundation colleagues at the PACFA conference, the past few weeks have been full of meaningful conversations and new connections.

And behind the scenes, as we've been preparing for our 20/20 Circle Annual Meeting & Grants Dinner later this month, there have been lots of great conversations about new funds and new ways to support the community. Some of those stories have already been shared, while others are still taking shape. We’re looking forward to sharing more in the weeks ahead!

We’re grateful for the people who continue to bring new ideas, questions, generosity, and collaboration to the table. There’s a lot happening—and we’re excited about what’s ahead.

We’re thrilled to announce Kathy Kovatch Reaman as the 2026 recipient of the Elissa M. Garofalo Community Impact Award! 💙💚

A lifelong resident of Nesquehoning, Kathy and her husband, Ric, transformed the former KME property into Narrow Valley Sports — creating a place where local families can find opportunities for sports, recreation, wellness, childcare, and connection close to home.

Kathy’s vision, leadership, and commitment to strengthening our community embody the spirit of this award and the legacy of Elissa M. Garofalo.

Please join us in congratulating Kathy! 👏
