📊 Salary Referendum
If your principal hasn’t presented the district presentation yet, please encourage them to do so by September 18. You can also help support the presentation effort.

📋 Contract Language Reminders
➡️4-day work week: Wednesday early-release time should be used for self-directed planning. Have a meeting scheduled next week? Check the contract language.
➡️Progress Reports: Teachers have the authority to determine student grades according to the Student Progression Plan.

💙❤️Collective bargaining continues on Wednesday, September 2nd, starting at 4PM at the LCS District office.

The committee will continue to work on the top three priorities as identified by the bargaining unit petition signed by over 60% of LCS educators: 1) Fair compensation, 2)Safe and healthy working conditions, 3) work/life balance and educator voice

➡️Statewide Action: LCEA joined union leaders from across Florida at FEA Governance Board this past Saturday to collaborate on shared state-wide issues.

➡️Supporting Members: Leadership Lunches continued this week, connecting directly with worksite leaders at schools across the district to listen, support, and organize.
❤️This past week we visited Windy Hill, Astatula, Lost Lake, Tavares Middle, Academy of Lake Hills South (Mascotte), Aurelia Cole Academy, and Eustis Elementary.
❤️This upcoming week we will visit Minneola Horizon Academy, Villages Elementary, Eustis Heights, Eustis Middle, Seminole Springs Elementary, South Lake High, Carver Middle, Eustis High, and Cecil Gray Middle.

➡️Member Advocacy: LCEA assisted members with contract grievances, issues involving copy limits, substitute limitations, student service concerns, and more.

➡️New Superintendent 100-Day Vision: The School Board selected Chad Farnsworth as the district's next superintendent. He will share his 100-Day vision on August 31 during the School Board Workshop.
