Happy 109th Birthday to Altrusa International, Inc.! 🎉

Established in 1917, Altrusa is a nonprofit organization dedicated to community service, literacy, and making a meaningful difference in communities around the world. With more than 10,000 members and 390+ clubs globally, Altrusa provides opportunities for volunteering, developing leadership skills, and building lasting friendships through local service projects.

Originally founded as a civic club for business women in Nashville, Tennessee, Altrusa has grown into an inclusive organization open to all, with a strong focus on literacy, disaster relief, and supporting local charities. Each club identifies and serves the unique needs of its own community, creating impact where it matters most.

Through the Altrusa International Foundation, established in 1962, grants are provided to support both local and international projects, including education initiatives and disaster relief efforts.

Shiver me timbers! 🏴‍☠️ Our 16th Annual Altrusa Bunco Party was a massive success! With 155 tickets sold, the galley was full and the dice were rolling. 🎲

Big thanks to Firefighter Charity of Central Florida for the incredible grub and a huge congrats to our $700 50/50 winner, Denise Purrenhage Burry! 💰

Every doubloon raised supports our local literacy, domestic violence awareness, and scholarship programs. Thank you for helping Altrusa of Lake County make waves! 🌊📚
