Connecting Communities. Supporting Economic Growth. Investing in Lake County’s Future.

Lake 100 has submitted a letter of support encouraging the Public Land and Trails Acquisition Advisory Committee to fund the continued expansion and connection of Lake County’s local trail system.

A key opportunity is the acquisition of the 11-mile railroad right-of-way that would extend the Wekiva Trail into Downtown Mount Dora and Downtown Tavares, while helping connect communities, business corridors, and existing trail investments throughout the county.

From an economic development perspective, a connected trail system is more than a recreational amenity. It can help:

• Drive visitors into downtowns and local businesses
• Strengthen connections between communities and commercial corridors
• Support tourism and outdoor recreation
• Enhance quality of life and Lake County’s ability to attract businesses and talent
• Build upon existing public investments in trails and infrastructure

Lake 100 Board Member Spotlight: Sean Lahey

Sean Lahey is a dedicated member of the Lake 100 Board whose professional leadership and commitment to the organization reflect Lake 100’s mission of strengthening private-sector engagement in the future of Lake County.

Sean joined Insurance Office of America in 2004 as a commercial insurance producer, where he works with businesses to manage risk, protect their assets, and support long-term growth. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from St. Leo University and holds several professional insurance designations, including AAI, ARM, CPCU, and ARe.

Sean has also demonstrated a strong commitment to civic involvement. Through Lake 100, he completed the Political Leadership Academy, expanding his knowledge of public service and civic leadership before going on to receive an appointment to serve his community.

As a Lake 100 Board Member, Sean continues to invest his time, expertise, and leadership in the organization and its initiatives. His involvement is a great example of Lake 100’s goal to encourage private-sector leaders to become informed, engaged, and active in shaping the future of our community.

Turning Priorities Into Action.

The Lake 100 Executive Board has finalized its planning and objectives for the next fiscal year, with a clear goal: expand the voice, effectiveness, and impact of Lake County’s private sector.

The Board has identified key areas of focus based on the annual member survey empowering Lake 100 members and sponsors too bring their expertise, leadership, and perspective to the issues shaping Lake County’s economic future. And we’re creating a new way to turn that engagement into action.

Stay tuned for the launch of Lake 100’s new “Champion” Advocacy Protocol, which will be announced at this month’s member meeting and provide a structured way for members to take the lead on the issues that matter most.
