TODAY IS CATTAILS FELINE RESCUE'S 20TH ANNIVERSARY!

Thank you to everyone who sent us pictures of our Cattails alumni! Seeing all of our cats in their forever homes is so incredibly heartwarming. It reminds us why we started Cattails, to save cats!

Today I spent some time calculating some fun facts about our rescue over the last 20 years:

❤️ We have saved over 6000 cats and found them incredible homes.
❤️ We have bottle fed about 1000 neonates and spent 2 years and 4 months in total feeding them!
❤️ We have used over 1200 lbs of kitten milk replacer.
❤️ We have fed over 146,000 lbs of dry food and over 350,000 cans of wet food!
❤️ We have used over 300,000 pounds of cat litter.
❤️ In my 29 years as a veterinarian I have performed probably close to 60,000 spay/neuter surgeries!

The last 10 days have been very busy with neonatal kitten intakes. Since last week, we have taken in 14 new bottle babies, bringing our total being fed up to 23! Thankfully, one of my vet students is feeding a group of 5 and a singleton, leaving me with only 17. Lots of long days and nights of feeding every 3 hours. This is in addition to all our regular shelter work, surgeries, and other intakes. It doesn't matter if I am tired or burned out; these little ones require constant care. In cat rescue, there are no days off or vacations. Our work has been 24/7/365 for the past 20 years!

Tomorrow, June 10th, is Cattails Feline Rescue's 20th Anniversary! We have bottle fed an estimated 1000 neonates. We have spent an estimated 2 years and 4 months feeding neonates! We have used over 1200 pounds of milk replacer.
I am so proud of the work that Dan and I do, and I know we have made a difference in these kittens' lives!
