Celebrating Collaboration Across Southwest Oklahoma! The Lawton Food Bank is honored to receive the Judy Kishner Collaboration Award at the Hunger Free Oklahoma Annual Conference!

This award reflects the power of partnerships, the dedication of our team, and the shared commitment of people working together to ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious food. Over the past year, we have had the privilege of collaborating with incredible organizations, community partners, healthcare providers, and advocates across Southwest Oklahoma. Together, we are finding new ways to reach our neighbors, address barriers to food access, and build stronger, healthier communities.

At the Lawton Food Bank, we believe that no neighbor should face hunger alone. We also know that meaningful, lasting change happens when we work together!

To our team, partners, volunteers, and supporters: thank you for being part of this work. This recognition belongs to all of us! Together, we are nourishing our neighbors, strengthening our communities, and making a difference across Southwest Oklahoma.

We’re trying something new! 🥫We’ve heard feedback from our larger families, and we’re excited to test a new option at the Lawton Food Bank!

Thanks to our partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma we’ve been able to source #10-size cans of food, the large foodservice cans that can provide multiple servings for a family!

📅 October 10–23, families of 6 or more who visit the Lawton Food Bank will be able to choose from an assortment of these larger cans!

Our hope is that this will give larger families more flexibility to meal prep, stretch their groceries, and put nutritious food on the table for more family members!

This is a two week pilot and we want to learn from you! If we see that this is helpful and successful, we’ll evaluate the program and consider making larger-size foods a long-term option.

We’re always looking for ways to serve our current neighbors better and would love your feedback during the process!

💚❤️ WHEN COMMUNITY PARTNERS STEP UP, AMAZING THINGS HAPPEN!

At the Center for Creative Living, we believe that no senior should ever feel forgotten, and no organization should have to serve its community alone.

This week, we were reminded just how fortunate we are to have incredible partners like the Lawton Food Bank!

Due to an unexpected scheduling conflict with our regular food pallet order, we found ourselves facing a challenge with our upcoming Senior Food Basket distribution.

But the Lawton Food Bank stepped up in a BIG way! 💚

Their willingness to work with us, respond to an unexpected need, and help ensure our seniors continue receiving food assistance is a powerful example of what true community partnership looks like.

It's not just about food. It's about compassion, dignity, neighbors helping neighbors, and organizations coming together for the people who helped build our community.

We will resume our regular Senior Food Basket Program as scheduled.

When the grocery budget doesn’t stretch far enough, families turn to the food bank.

Across our nation, families are feeling the pressure of rising food and fuel costs. Here in Southwest Oklahoma, we are seeing that pressure firsthand. In September alone, the Lawton Food Bank served 6,972 neighbors in need.

And we’re seeing something else: more large families coming through our doors. Families with more people in their households are needing more food to make it through the month. Many of these families are military families who are feeling the strain of rising costs just like so many of our neighbors.
When a family is already making difficult choices between groceries, gas, housing, utilities, and other necessities, an extra week of groceries can make a meaningful difference.

$50 can provide a large household with a week of groceries! Your gift helps us make sure that when a neighbor comes through our doors, we have nutritious food ready to share.
Because no family should have to choose between filling their gas tank and filling their refrigerator.
