ππ ONE YEAR OF PURPOSE. ONE YEAR OF IMPACT. ONE LEGACY THAT WILL LIVE FOREVER. π
October 14, 2025 β October 14, 2026
One year ago today, The Marquavies Bernard Broughton Foundation, Inc. officially received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.
What began as a mother's unimaginable heartbreak has become a movement of hope, prevention, education, advocacy, and LIVES BEING SAVED.
On April 1, 2025, I lost my son, Marquavies βQuaβ Broughton, to nitazene poisoning. I never imagined that the most painful day of my life would become the beginning of a mission so much bigger than me.
But I made a promise that my son's name would not be remembered only for how he died, but for the lives that would be saved because he lived. π
LOOK WHAT WE'VE ACCOMPLISHED IN ONE YEAR!
π 5,500+ people reached directly through our community efforts
π 1,741 naloxone kits distributed as of September 2026
π At least TWO reported overdose reversals involving naloxone provided by our foundation
π 395 DaQuaWay Pledges collected at Crisp County High School alone
π 302.9K views, 10.2K likes, and 1.7K comments on NITAZENES KILL: Marquavies Broughton's Story, Episode 338, by Texas Pictures Documentaries
π 176,024 estimated impressions through our Lamar Advertising billboard campaign
π Over 484,000 combined community contacts and media exposure opportunities!
π Our inaugural Partnership for Purpose 5K raised $22,680, bringing together hundreds of participants, supporters, and community partners!
From classrooms to community events, from Georgia to Times Square, Qua's story is traveling farther than I ever imagined.
Through our DaQuaWay Initiative, we continue to:
EDUCATE β’ EQUIP β’ PREVENT β’ RESPOND β’ CONNECT β’ SAVE LIVES
To every board member, volunteer, sponsor, donor, community partner, organization, family member, and person who has supported this mission β THANK YOU!
You believed in a grieving mother's vision. You stood beside me when the journey wasn't easy. And you helped turn a promise into purpose.
We are not just building a foundation. We are building a legacy.
And to my baby boy, Quaβ¦ π
Mommy is keeping her promise. Your name is being spoken in places we've never been. Your story is opening eyes, changing conversations, and helping people recognize the dangers that took you from us.
I wish more than anything that you were here to see it.
But until I see you again, I will keep going. I will keep fighting. I will keep educating. And I will keep saying your name.
ONE YEAR DOWN. A LIFETIME OF PURPOSE TO GO.
π BECAUSE OF QUA, LIVES WILL BE SAVED. π
