This video is what Major Fundamentals is all about. 🏀💯

It starts with a simple conversation — asking him about the tattoos and hearing they came from a birthday party — then it’s right back to basketball, teaching, moving, competing and having fun.

Those little conversations matter. Before you can coach a kid, you have to connect with the kid. When young people feel comfortable, seen and encouraged, they’re more willing to listen, learn and challenge themselves.

Build the relationship. Teach. Let them have fun. That’s the work. 🌳🏀

Our favorite moment was captured right here.

During free throws, this young lady kept working until she finally knocked down two in a row. What happened next meant even more than the shots — the kids around her immediately gave her high fives and celebrated her, without a coach telling them to.

That’s what we want these clinics to be about.

Not just making shots. Not just improving your handle. But learning how to encourage somebody else, recognize their hard work, and celebrate their success like it’s your own.

Basketball teaches a lot more than basketball.

80 kids. One gym. A whole lot of growth. 🏀💚
