Victory over Japan Day (also known as V-J Day, Victory in the Pacific Day, or V-P Day[1]) is the day on which Imperial Japan surrendered in World War II, in effect bringing the war to an end. The term has been applied to both of the days on which the initial announcement of Japan's surrender was made – 15 August 1945, in Japan, and because of time zone differences, 14 August 1945 (when it was announced in the United States and the rest of the Americas and Eastern Pacific Islands) – as well as to 2 September 1945, when the surrender document was signed, officially ending World War II.

15 August is the official V-J Day for the United Kingdom, while the official US commemoration is 2 September.[2] The name, V-J Day, had been selected by the Allies after they named V-E Day for the victory in Europe

The final update for the Reds V Cubs bus trip on Saturday Aug 29th. All tickets have been sold. This next part is very important......All tickets have been sent, there are still 6 of those tickets that have not been accepted by the recipient. Everything at Wrigley is cashless and to enter the game, you must have your ticket on your device (phone) or on the device of someone who will scan it for you upon entering. I cannot resend you these tickets and I do not know how your phone works or how to download them. If you need assistance, please go to your phone provider's store. There should be someone there to help you.
Please bring cash for the bus trip. All drinks will be $2.00. There will be beer and mixed drinks only. We will not have shots. Please respect the process and do not bring your own alcohol. We will not be stopping for food. You are welcome to bring your sandwiches, chips, etc....We will have the bus all day and we can leave items on the bus during the game. They will be secure. I do not know what time we will be returning, the game may into extra innings. On the way up and back, we will be stopping somewhere approximately halfway to smoke.

We will be stocking coolers and preparing for the trip on Friday evening. Any help is appreciated. We will also need help loading/unloading the coolers unto the bus upon leaving the Post and arriving back.
Finally, the bus will arrive at Post 261 at 9am and depart at 930 am. If you are late, you will be left behind.

It's a bit later in the year than normal but Im sure there will be just as much fun !! Get signed up and come on out and hit a few !!

We have certain days out of the month for free days at the VFW Post 261. Which means you don't have to be a member to come in but you do need to be 21!!!! With this being said Today Friday the 14th is a free day. Please come and see your favorite bartender me Cherie Campbell ....haha Also next Friday the 21st is a free day with Chasity Davenport as your bartender. Please come and support your local VFW Post 261!!!

An update on the Baseball Bus Trip on 8-29.
There are currently 8 tickets remaining for sale and these are open to anyone who wishes to go.The cost is $150 and payment is required upon signing up. The sign up sheet is at the Post. First come, first served.
The stadium is cashless, however, please bring cash for the bus trip.
Please ask any questions that you may have.
