We welcome everyone to join us in the honor and privilege to personally extend the well deserved and overdue WELCOME HOME!”

Our final Honor Flight celebration of 2026 is this Saturday, October 17, Plainfield High School, doors open at 7:30pm. We want the gym packed with patriotic citizens who want to show these Hoosier heroes just how much they are loved and appreciated. Wear red/white/blue, make a sign saying "we love our Veterans", "welcome home", 'thanks for your service", etc!
This is an event you will never regret attending, please take the time to spend time with our Veterans! See you there.

We continue to have the pleasure and honor to work with the Young Marines of Morgan County. Their determination to work together and help others is wonderful to see. Watching them hone skills and develop as young adults is a privilege. As they say “teamwork makes the dream work.” A great reminder from our upcoming adults! Great job Young Marines! Remember Mission over Ego!

Dave Thomas, a member of RTIN1, quietly presented his father’s POW ribbon to a member of the Morgan County Young Marines after Taps on the Square Friday evening. We are proud and honored to know both of these “young” men. Thanks, Dave, for sharing your father’s story and honoring this Young Marine with this important and generous gift.

It is an honor and privilege to attend this event on Friday evenings. We have met so many great people, shared our common interests and goals, but most importantly we have been able to support a very important mission and pay tribute to heroes no longer with us. If you haven’t attended this ceremony, it’s held every Friday night. Join us…you will be glad you did! Thank you Indiana Spirit of ‘45!

Welcome home, Navy Fireman 1st Class Fred H. Boyer. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Fireman Boyer was killed aboard the USS West Virginia during the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. More than 80 years later, he is finally home.

It was an honor and privilege to be a part of your homecoming. 🇺🇸🦅

Funeral procession route update

The route to be taken bringing Fireman Fred Boyer back to Tipton County has changed. With the advice of the Indiana State Police, the procession will be turning off U.S. 31 at 276th Street in Hamilton County and proceed East. This will take us to Beck's Hybrids and then onto 281st Street where we will turn north on State Road 19 and take that to Tipton. This route change is due to the fresh chip and seal on 296th Street.

We anticipate arriving in Tipton around 3:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to line the route in town to honor Fireman Boyer.

He will be laid to rest with his parents during a graveside service at the Kempton Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30. Military honors will be provided by the US Navy.

If you wish to participate please be at airport cell phone lot at 12pm Wednesday 23 September.
All vehicles welcome.

Staging: Initial Arrival - 23 September, 2026
Indianapolis International Airport-Cell Phone Lot:
We will stage at approximately 1 hour prior to arrival time.
Arrival is scheduled for approximately 1330 hrs. (1:30pm)
Please Note: Early arrival is quite likely and happens often. If you plan to attend, Please find the Ride Captain in the Cell Phone Lot and Sign IN
This is an All Call Notice for any and all Military Veterans and Veteran Related Groups. Riders or Not - All are Welcome. We will have flags to hold to show our Love and Appreciation and our final Welcome Home

Fred H. Boyer-22, USN, 1st Class Fireman on Battleship USS West Virginia was killed during the Pearl Harbor Attack - 7 Dec. 1941.
Boyer's remains were identified in July 2024 as one of the 106 ships crew killed on that fateful day.
Boyer was the son of Roy D. Boyer and his wife in Kempton, IN. Boyer is now being returned to Indiana to his hometown to be buried alongside his parents.
He is scheduled to arrive at Indianapolis International "IND" on September 23, 2026. and travel to Tipton, IN.
A graveside service will take place at 1:00 PM on September 30, 2026 with Full Military Honors provided by the US Navy as Boyer is laid to his final rest.

At this time, the arriving procession will travel north on St. Rd. 19 from Hamilton County to Jefferson St. in Tipton, IN at approx. 3:00 PM, to arrive at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, located at 216 W. Jefferson St., in Tipton, IN.
People are being encouraged to line the route to Honor Fred Boyer-Sailor KIA as he makes his final return home.

*Scott Kowalski-Sr. Ride Captain, Indiana Patriot Guard Riders in North Central Region is coordinating this mission overall.

*Bruce Craig-Sr. Ride Captain, INPGR in Central Indiana Region is coordinating the Indianapolis portion of the mission.
