6 and have rescued over 1,000. The original purpose of K-SNAG was to assist area residents with the cost of spaying/neutering their pets in an effort to reduce the number of homeless dogs and cats in our area. As an animal welfare organization, we began to get calls from people needing help with stray animals, and that is how we began our rescue program. Cats are always waiting for forever homes at the "Cat's Meow" shelter in Laurium or in foster homes with volunteers.
