Our founders understood the importance of free speech, writing it into our constitution. This speech allows for criticism of our government (local, state and federal) without the fear of government persecution or retaliation. Those who seek to silence others who express grievances with our government are seeking to destroy this fundamental right.

Do we have anyone handy out there that could do a project for us? We will pay for materials. We need 2 more brooders like this one. Basically, the inside part of the lid gets cut out, and hardware cloth cut to fit gets zip tied once holes are drilled. Holler if you can help!
Thanks much!!

The Village of Calumet shared this with us in the comment section after we posted the PSA below. To be clear, on May 12th, the village manager publicly stated 'The building has asbestos and we can't do anything with it." We were sharing information which was shared DIRECTLY with us upon asking why the rubble had not been cleaned up. We don't share rumors. Nothing we said was inaccurate as we shared what the Village Manager had STATED.
"Village of Calumet
We have since discovered this area is safe for removal (without asbestos) and the village DPW will be pushing all debris from the sidewalk into the property line tomorrow morning. We are working with the property owner to get the area fenced off until it is cleaned up. Please contact the village office directly for any information or updates."

Public service announcement! Warning..the Village of Calumet has stated that the rubble of the collapsed building owned by Dr. Rob Gorski, contains asbestos. Uncontained asbestos poses serious health risks to people, including cancer. This building is located next door to UP Pub and the Calumet Green Space where many residents and visitors congregate. The asbestos is open to wind and rain and could possibly make its way into the air and into our ground water.
