November is National Diabetes Awareness Month! 💙

This month, Pathwise recognizes the importance of raising awareness about diabetes, promoting healthy habits, and encouraging regular health screenings. Diabetes affects millions of individuals and families, and education is an important step toward prevention, early detection, and better management.

Let's work together to spread awareness, support one another, and encourage healthier futures!

What a day in our community! 🎃

Yesterday, our OTD capstone class was out supporting two of our local partners. First up was a visit to Pathwise to see their brand new therapy space, a beautiful setting built around their mission of navigating growth and empowering journeys.

From there, students headed to Whitten Center for their “Use What You Have” Halloween Costume Contest and Fun Day, along with a tour of their new sensory facilities. The creativity in these adapted wheelchair costumes was incredible. From DJ Smooth to Candy Land, every entry was a winner, and we are so proud of our first place champions! 🏆

Dum Vivimus Servimus: while we live, we serve. Our capstone students spent the day giving their time and energy to local partners, celebrating alongside participants and learning how thoughtfully designed spaces support everyday participation. These real life experiences in service help them better understand community needs, insight that will shape the capstone projects they develop next.

Thank you to Pathwise and Whitten Center for welcoming our students and showing them what meaningful, person-centered care looks like in action. 💙

Alex celebrated his birthday on October 21 with his housemates and enjoyed a special home visit, spending time with his beloved pets, Oscar and Otis! 🐾 We hope Alex had a wonderful birthday filled with happiness, love, and special memories!

Patrick loves helping Spree and our maintenance crew and takes great pride in the work he does! ❤️ Those two hours each week mean so much to him, and we're grateful to Spree for giving Patrick the opportunity to build skills, feel valued, and find purpose in something he truly enjoys.

It's amazing what a little time, encouragement, and genuine connection can mean. We're proud of Patrick and thankful for the friendships and opportunities that make a difference! 💙

🎃Clinton Manor held their 3rd annual Halloween party for Residents, Staff & their families.🎃

A time was had and we all had so much fun!

From our Clinton Manor ICF Manager, Kimberly Torrence:

"Our Residents stationed throughout the halls in their doorways to their rooms & handed out candy to all the kiddos that came. It's truly one of their favorite times of the year. They love doing this & seeing all the kids. We are one big family, and it truly shows how we all come together no matter the holiday, event or day- as one. When you love what you do, it makes all the difference in the world & in the lives of those we serve."

🎃 P.E.A.C.E. Meeting: Boo-lieve in Yourself! 👻

Last Wednesday, our P.E.A.C.E. self-advocacy group gathered for a meaningful meeting hosted by Sharnecee and George!

George shared his inspiring life story, including a time when he felt lost and how finding his place at Pathwise gave him purpose and meaning. His story was a powerful reminder that we are all here for a reason! 💙

Together, we discussed the importance of believing in yourself, staying positive, and never letting others tell you that you can’t do something. We all have unique strengths, talents, and possibilities to share with the world!

We’re proud of our P.E.A.C.E. members for continuing to grow in confidence, encourage one another, and celebrate the power of believing in themselves! 🌟
