The Laurens County Cancer Association is excited to announce an incredible collaboration with India Jones, a student in the Presbyterian College Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program.

As part of her capstone project, India is focusing on something that is incredibly important but sometimes overlooked: the people caring for those battling cancer.

Her project focuses on enhancing the quality of life of informal cancer caregivers by developing educational resources and support strategies to help reduce caregiver burden and improve their overall well-being. By better supporting caregivers, this project also aims to positively impact the quality of care and outcomes for cancer patients and survivors.

At the LCCA, we have always believed in walking alongside those facing cancer. This collaboration gives us an opportunity to broaden that mission and create space to support the people walking beside them.

Because cancer doesn't just affect the person receiving the diagnosis. It affects the entire circle of people who love them.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

If you are 18 years or older and you currently or previously cared for someone with cancer, India would love for you to participate in her survey.

You must have served as an informal, unpaid caregiver — a partner, family member, or friend.

Your experiences matter. Your voice can help identify what caregivers truly need and help shape resources and support that can make a meaningful difference for others.

Take a few minutes to complete the survey here:

We are incredibly grateful to India for choosing to partner with the LCCA and for recognizing that caregivers need care, too.

Together, we can continue to expand what it means to walk alongside our cancer community — supporting not only those battling cancer, but the people beside them every step of the way.

Did you know your spare change can make a BIG difference for local cancer patients?

If you use the Walmart app for pickup or delivery, you've probably seen the option to round up your total to the nearest dollar. Ever wondered where that extra change goes?

You can choose to have your change donated directly to the Laurens County Cancer Association! Every few cents add up to help provide fuel assistance, nutritional supplements, medical equipment, and other vital support for Laurens County residents battling cancer.

That's it! Every eligible Walmart pickup or delivery order can automatically round up your purchase to the nearest dollar, with the spare change going directly to help local families facing cancer.

It may only be a few cents at a time, but together, those pennies add up!

A huge THANK YOU to the Rotary Club of Clinton, SC for generously donating three 6-foot tables to the Laurens County Cancer Association!

Tables, you ask? Why are they such a big deal?

These tables provide a welcoming place for our clients to gather and enjoy dinner during our Living with Cancer support group meetings. They also play an important role at many of our fundraising events, volunteer activities, and community gatherings throughout the year.

It's often the simple things that make a meaningful difference, and gifts like these help us continue creating a comfortable, supportive environment for the families we serve.

Thank you, Rotary Club of Clinton, for investing in our mission and in the people of Laurens County. Your generosity helps ensure that no one has to walk their cancer journey alone.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Summer Fundraiser at The Lumberyard! Because of your generosity and support, we raised over $6,500 that will go right back into Laurens County, helping local residents battling cancer.

A very special thank you to Self Regional Healthcare, our presenting sponsor, for making this event possible. Your commitment to our community continues to make a lasting impact.

The night couldn't have been better! Charlie kicked things off with great live music, Pat Patterson kept the energy going all evening, the amazing ladies behind the bar kept everyone smiling, the kitchen staff kept the delicious food coming, Teresa made sure raffle tickets were flying, and Anna had the pleasure of visiting with so many wonderful people throughout the night.

Most of all, we loved seeing our clients, our supporters, our volunteers, and so many familiar faces gathered together for a cause that means so much to all of us. Seeing our community come together reminds us that no one has to walk their cancer journey alone.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making the evening such a success. We can't wait to do it again!
