LCTA is dedicated to leading the development of land and water trails in Laurens County, SC for the benefit of all our citizens and visitors.LCTA's primary focus is to extend the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail through Laurens County. The purpose of the trail will be to promote healthy lifestyles, stimulate economic growth, and promote conservation. The initial plan is to connect a primary trail to an exis
ting trail in Fountain Inn, route it through Owings, Gray Court, Laurens, and Clinton and then connect to the Palmetto Trail in the Sumter National Forest to form a loop in the foothills and Piedmont of the upstate. It would be designed so that other Laurens County trails could connect to it. Besides offering diverse and beautiful terrain for walkers, hikers, cyclists, and other outdoor enthusiasts, the trail would offer the opportunity for new economic growth by bringing eco-tourists into the towns on the trail.
