Genevieve Carvil-Harris | Spotlight 1 of 3: Role & Service

Leadership is not simply about having a seat at the table.
It is about what you bring to the table, why you choose to serve, and how you use what you carry to impact others.

Today, we begin our three-part Beyond the Boardroom spotlight on Genevieve Harris , a valued member of the Legacy Lives Here Inc. Board of Directors. Genevieve’s relationship with Legacy Lives Here did not begin with a board position.
Before joining us, she was preparing to restart her own wealth events when she connected with our founders, Glenn Payne and Afiesha Payne.

She could have viewed another organization doing meaningful work in that space as competition. Instead, she saw an opportunity for something greater.
Collaboration. Genevieve believed there was no reason to compete in a space where working together could create greater impact.

That belief led her to first come alongside Legacy Lives Here as a sponsor and partner. She supported the work because she believed in the vision.
In time, that relationship grew into something deeper.

Board service.

One area especially close to Genevieve’s heart is youth development.
With more than 15 years of experience working in youth development, she brings knowledge, passion, perspective, and a genuine commitment to helping strengthen opportunities for the next generation.

When asked why she serves, Genevieve shared:
“I believe in Legacy Lives Here. I believe collaboration is key. There was no need for us to compete in the same space when we could work together. I first came alongside the organization as a sponsor and partner because I believed in the vision. With more than 15 years in youth development, that is also an area where I know I can contribute and serve.”

For Genevieve, board service is not simply about holding a title.
It is about bringing what she already carries to the table and using it to strengthen a shared vision.

It is choosing collaboration over competition.
It is investing experience.
It is serving the next generation.

And it is helping build something that can create impact far beyond any one person.

CARLENE C. WRIGHT

Carlene C. Wright has built a life and public presence centered on encouragement, empowerment, entrepreneurship and service.
For years, she has used her voice and her platforms to help people recognize what is possible within themselves. Her message has consistently encouraged others to identify their strengths, embrace their purpose and move forward with greater confidence.

As the founder of Wright Encouragement, Carlene created a platform focused on encouraging, educating and inspiring others. Her journey has included work in media as a television and event host, along with speaking and community engagement throughout South Florida.

Her commitment to empowering others has also reached into health and wellness. Through community initiatives in Lauderhill, Carlene has helped encourage residents to become more active, make healthier choices and recognize wellness as an important part of living well.

Her story also includes entrepreneurship and financial empowerment. Through Wright Insurance, Carlene has worked to help families think more intentionally about protecting their financial futures while encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue ownership, opportunity and greater financial independence.
There is a common thread running through each chapter of her journey.

Carlene encourages people to move forward.
To discover purpose.
To prioritize wellness.
To pursue ownership.
To recognize opportunity.
And, perhaps most importantly, to believe that more is possible.

That spirit of encouragement is why we are proud to recognize Carlene C. Wright as a 2027 RiseUp Legacy Awards Honoree and recipient of the Women’s Empowerment Award, as the RiseUp Wealth Summit celebrates its historic 10th anniversary.
