Lance Corporal Joseph Roble served in Vietnam with the Third Marine Division near Khe Sanh. He was killed September 16, 1968, a victim of a surprise mortar and rocket attack. On July 8, 2015, a bill was signed by Governor Wolf to dedicate the bridge on Route 982 over the Loyalhanna Creek as the Lance Corporal Joseph E. Roble Memorial Bridge.
