The AFA "Walk for the Animals" event held on September 26th included five activity stations along the walking trail that required the dogs to do a task to receive a prize. The stations included the dogs walking through and sit/stay within a hula hoop, showing their special talents, following their humans through cones and the most popular station was giving their paw since the prize was a pup cup. The dogs loved the pup cup and anxiously awaited their turn for this special prize! 🥰

We want to extend our thanks to everyone who attended the walk with their adorable furbaby including all the alumni! It was great seeing all the dogs that were adopted from the AFA shelter! ❤️🐶❤️

The Action For Animals shelter has 18 October calendar tickets left to sell and we need your help! The tickets would make a great small gift for a birthday, special occasion or just for yourself!

Proceeds from the October ticket will help provide food, shelter and medical care for the 100+ rescued animals at the AFA shelter located at 386 State Route 217 in Latrobe PA (www.afashelter.org).

Thank you to everyone who attended the Action For Animal’s “Walk for the Animals” fundraiser on Saturday, September 26th at Twin Lakes Park. It was a beautiful and sunny day for a walk, and we hope everyone had a paw-some good time! We enjoyed seeing all of you and your adorable pups including the shelter’s alumni!

The walk also included an agility course which seemed to be challenging for a few dogs, but the majority who took part looked like they had lots of fun with all the obstacles!

We are very thankful and grateful to all the walk supporters, basket raffle and business donors, sponsors, volunteers and anyone else who helped to make this event a success!

We would also like to extend our thanks to Chili Pepper Mini Horse Therapy, Paws for Safety, JZ's Canine Coaching, and Dr. Hank Croft from Loyalhanna Veterinary Clinic for their educational presentations and demonstrations during the walk event.

Proceeds from the walk will help take care of the 150+ rescued animals at the Action for Animals shelter located at 386 State Route 217 in Latrobe PA.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Talon Talk program held last week at the Action For Animals Activity & Administration Building in Latrobe, PA. We’re also grateful to MPS Tax Service, Inc. - Markiewicz Personal Services in Latrobe for generously sponsoring this event.

The Talon Talk presentation featured an incredible lineup of birds of prey from around the world, including a Harris hawk, barn owl, prairie falcon, and black vulture. Alexis and Will from Nature's Educators delivered an engaging, educational, and wonderfully up-close program that highlighted the beauty and importance of these remarkable birds.

⭐ AFA Walk for the Animals is Today! ⭐

The Action For Animal’s Humane Society’s “Walk for the Animals” will be held today, Saturday, September 26th from 11am to 3pm at Twin Lakes Park, 219 Twin Lakes Road in Latrobe (Pavilion #8 – located on McWilliams Road). Registration begins at 11am and the walk begins at 12 noon. Registration fee (adults - $40 and children - $20) includes lunch and a Walk for the Animals tee shirt.

Don’t have a dog or not interested in walking? This event is open to the public, so you can still stop by and help support the AFA shelter on Saturday by purchasing basket and 50-50 tickets, AFA logo merchandise, Cash Bash tickets ($35 each) and October calendar tickets ($5.00 each).

The walk fundraiser will include animal-related presentations and educational demonstrations, basket and 50/50 raffles, paw-some activity stations along the trail, contests, games, Lauren’s Wing The Fund for the Animals care, prizes, and much more!

AFA Alumni will receive a special bandana upon registration; a group photo will be taken and there will be special prizes awarded for the newest and oldest AFA alumni dog.

Proceeds from the walk will provide food, shelter, and medical care for the 100+ rescued animals at the Action For Animals shelter located at 386 State Route 217 in Latrobe PA (www.afashelter.org).
