Meet Mesilla Valley Community of Hope, one of the incredible community organizations helping create pathways to a stronger Las Cruces.

Their Open the Door artwork, created by Jessica Galenski and John Zacharias, represents the power of coming together. Their message says it beautifully:

“When we put our hearts, hands, voices and resources together, we create pathways to hope, home and stability.”

That is exactly what Open the Door is all about.

This special art exhibit brings together local organizations, and community partners who have each created a door representing the work they do and the impact they make right here in our community.

Come see the stories, creativity, and missions behind the doors. Including the important work of Mesilla Valley Community of Hope and so many other organizations working to make Las Cruces a better place.

“Food for Today. Hope for Tomorrow.”

Meet Kristen Muñoz (right) and her team at Casa de Peregrinos (Emergency Food Program)!
They recently dropped off the door they created for our Open the Door community art exhibit, part of our upcoming ReStore Re-Grand Opening.

For this project, local organizations that make a meaningful impact in Las Cruces were invited to create a door representing the work they do and the people they serve. Each door tells a different story and Casa de Peregrinos’ door is a beautiful reminder of the importance of having a place to turn to during difficult times.

As their team shared:

“Our work means the community has a place to turn to in times of crisis.”

We are so excited to open these doors to the community and share the incredible work being done throughout Las Cruces.
