La Casa Inc. La Casa, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence. We believe domestic violence and abuse can be overcome.

We envision a community knowledgeable about domestic violence and abuse and fully engaged and committed to its eradication. We believe that dignity, social justice, safety, freedom from abuse and the pursuit of happiness are basic human rights for all, rights that can only be realized with the active engagement of the entire community. In all our endeavors we affirm these rights without regard to

race, creed, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or any other differentiating factors. We actively oppose all forms of violence and abuse including physical, psychological, emotional, verbal, sexual and economic.

This past Thursday during Empoderando a Chaparral, our amazing participants took part in a beautiful collaborative activity called "Building a Community."

Using butcher paper, paint, and a lot of shared heart, everyone worked together to visually map out what a safe, supportive, and connected community looks like to them. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the power of unity, safety, and mutual support.

We are so proud of the beautiful artwork and the meaningful conversations that came out of this activity! The finished piece will be proudly posted and displayed at the Dolores Wright Center in Chaparral for all of our neighbors to see and enjoy.

Thank you to all the incredible participants who lent their creativity, vision, and stories to this project. You are the heartbeat of our village!

Our Village in Action: Giving Our Landscaping a Fresh Look! 🌱

Our community village is truly amazing, and today we have a wonderful outdoor update to share! We want to send a massive thank-you to the incredible volunteers from the JustServe volunteer organization for spending their time helping us pull weeds and completely clean up our landscaping.

First impressions matter, and keeping our facility's grounds beautiful, tidy, and welcoming is a vital part of creating a peaceful, comforting environment for the families who come to our emergency shelter.

Two Carts Full of Love! 🛒

Our community village is truly remarkable, and today we have another incredible act of generosity to celebrate! We want to give a massive shoutout and thank-you to the amazing team at Munchiez Dispensary for dropping off two huge carts packed full of groceries for our emergency shelter residents!

Keeping our shelter pantry fully stocked ensures that the families staying with us have access to fresh, nutritious, and comforting meals every single day. When survivors are focusing on healing and rebuilding their lives, not having to worry about where their next meal comes from is an immense relief.

Our Village in Action: Essential Care for Our Residents!🌸

We are back with another beautiful example of community support in action! We want to send a massive thank-you to Hannah Crow with the NM Commission on the Status of Women for dropping off a huge supply of feminine hygiene items directly to our emergency shelter.

When people think about donating to a shelter, items like food and clothing are usually the first things that come to mind. Because of this, feminine hygiene products are often one of the most overlooked donations, yet they are consistently among the highest-need items for the women in our care.

Having reliable access to these everyday necessities is about so much more than basic health; it is about providing dignity, comfort, and peace of mind to survivors as they rebuild their lives in a safe environment.

We are incredibly thankful for this thoughtful, essential donation and for the ongoing advocacy work of the NM Commission on the Status of Women.

Our Village in Action: Soft and Sweet Comfort for Our Shelter! 🧸

Our community village is truly incredible, and today we have a wonderfully heartwarming example of that support to share!

We want to send a massive thank-you to the amazing students from Mesa Middle School - Las Cruces , along with their wonderful teacher, Ms. Valdez! They dropped off a incredibly generous donation of beautiful stuffed toys directly to our emergency shelter.

When children arrive at our shelter fleeing domestic violence, they are often overwhelmed and leaving behind everything familiar. Being handed a brand-new, soft stuffed animal to hold onto provides immediate comfort, a sense of security, and a reminder that their community cares about them.

We are checking in with an ongoing update from our emergency shelter. Thanks to the incredible kindness of our community, we have been working hard to keep our residents supported, but our shelves are still in critical need of everyday hygiene items and cleaning supplies.

When families flee domestic violence, having access to basic comforts and a clean environment is a massive part of their healing journey.

We are still gratefully accepting donations of the following items:
Shampoo & Conditioner
Body Wash
Cleaning Products (disinfectant sprays, laundry detergent, dish soap, multi-surface cleaners)

Supporting Our Partners at Jardin de los Niños! 🍋✨

At La Casa, Inc., we love standing alongside our incredible community partners. Today, we are excited to share a wonderful fundraiser hosted by our friends at Jardin de los Niños, and we would love for our community to help them reach their goal!

Jardin de los Niños invites you to support their After School Lemonade Stand! Here are all the sweet details:

When: Tuesday, June 16, from 10:00–11:00 AM
Where: La Tienda, 335 La Colonia Ave., Las Cruces, NM 88005

Their afterschool students will be selling delicious lemonade for just $0.50, with all proceeds directly benefiting their classroom and helping fund special movie days! 🎬💛

Not only is this a fun summer treat, but this activity also gives the students a wonderful hands-on opportunity to practice their money counting and customer service skills. Because of this, small bills and change are greatly appreciated at the stand!

We are out in the community today tabling at the local Deming Luna County Commission on Aging Senior Center and we are absolutely loving the opportunity to connect with our wonderful seniors, share vital resources, and pass out information about our services!

Our table looks incredibly festive and welcoming today, and we owe a massive thank you to J&I Balloon Decorator for their beautiful balloon decor donation! Your generosity completely brightened up our space and helped us draw a crowd so we could share our mission with even more neighbors.
