What is National Immigrants Day?

Every October 28th, we celebrate National Immigrants Day, a day to recognize and honor the contributions, resilience, and achievements of immigrants in the United States. 🦋 Today we honor the courage of the individuals and families who leave their home countries in search of new opportunities, safety, and a better future.

Rooted in courage. Guided by hope. 🧡

Did you know? 🦋

Butterflies are a symbol of migration! Just like immigrants, they make journeys that represent movement, transformation, and resilience. Monarch butterflies travel thousands of miles across borders, and it takes several generations to complete the trip. Their migration reminds us that the courage to embrace change, overcome challenges, and adapt to new environments has always been part of what it means to move toward a better future.

Today, we celebrate every immigrant who has taken that journey. Thank you for everything you bring to our communities. 🧡

🌻 What does it mean to encounter perspectives you never expected?

Immersion experiences remind us how powerful listening and presence can be. Kaitlyn's reflection speaks to the many new perspectives and experiences her group embraced, moments made possible by the border communities who welcomed them in.

🙏 We're grateful to Kaitlyn and the students of Eastside Preparatory School for stepping into the unfamiliar with open minds, and honored to help widen the lens through which they see the world. ✨

🎉 Today, April 30, communities across Mexico celebrate El Día del Niño—a day to honor the joy, dignity, imagination, and well-being of children. 💛🌟

This celebration is a beautiful reminder that every child deserves to be seen, cherished, and surrounded by love. 🧸✨

In Anapra, our partners at Biblioteca para la Vida create a welcoming space for children and families through their library and community center. 📚🤝 This year, Border Servant Corps was grateful to accompany their celebration by sharing toys so that each of the 48 children received a gift. 🎁

Our partner Estela shared: “Thank you so much for the toys you sent. I appreciate your generosity. It is a blessing for the children—their smiles and happiness say it all.” 😊💕

We give thanks for Biblioteca para la Vida, for Estela’s faithful leadership, and for the joy of being invited to support this beautiful community celebration. 🌈

¡Feliz Día del Niño! May every child know they are beloved, valued, and worthy of joy. 🫶🏽🎈

What does it mean to encounter the heart of immigration? 💛

Immersion experiences like these reveal just how powerful listening and presence can be. ✨ Hannah’s reflection speaks to the blessing of hearing from those deeply rooted in this work—their passion, their stories, and their commitment to serving our neighbors.

We are grateful for the individuals and communities who share their hearts, and for participants who step into this space ready to learn, listen, and be transformed. 🌿
