🎉 Today, April 30, communities across Mexico celebrate El Día del Niño—a day to honor the joy, dignity, imagination, and well-being of children. 💛🌟

This celebration is a beautiful reminder that every child deserves to be seen, cherished, and surrounded by love. 🧸✨

In Anapra, our partners at Biblioteca para la Vida create a welcoming space for children and families through their library and community center. 📚🤝 This year, Border Servant Corps was grateful to accompany their celebration by sharing toys so that each of the 48 children received a gift. 🎁

Our partner Estela shared: “Thank you so much for the toys you sent. I appreciate your generosity. It is a blessing for the children—their smiles and happiness say it all.” 😊💕

We give thanks for Biblioteca para la Vida, for Estela’s faithful leadership, and for the joy of being invited to support this beautiful community celebration. 🌈

¡Feliz Día del Niño! May every child know they are beloved, valued, and worthy of joy. 🫶🏽🎈

What does it mean to encounter the heart of immigration? 💛

Immersion experiences like these reveal just how powerful listening and presence can be. ✨ Hannah’s reflection speaks to the blessing of hearing from those deeply rooted in this work—their passion, their stories, and their commitment to serving our neighbors.

We are grateful for the individuals and communities who share their hearts, and for participants who step into this space ready to learn, listen, and be transformed. 🌿

How have your experiences challenged the way you see the world? 🌎

An immersive trip to the borderlands more than a trip—it’s an experience that challenges perspectives, deepens understanding, and calls us to compassion. 💕 Georgianna’s reflection speaks to the reality many participants encounter: seeing the world more clearly and feeling inspired to respond with empathy and action.

We are grateful for the courage it takes and to Lutheran Campus Center of Winona for stepping into these spaces, to listen, to learn, and to grow together. ✨

How would you like to be welcomed into a new area? 🏜️

Immersion experiences remind us just how powerful connection and hospitality can be. ✨ Nicole’s reflection captures the heart of this journey—being welcomed, building relationships, and stepping into a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.

We are so grateful for the communities who open their doors and hearts, and for students like Nicole and Lutheran Campus Center of Winona who embrace the opportunity to learn, listen, and grow. 🌿
