Do you remember the last days of your senior year in high school? The excitement, the memories, and savoring those final moments with classmates before everyone heads in different directions?

Well, our local senior class certainly made the most of it this morning! From tent camping on the high school lawn to putting a “For Sale” sign on the school doors, the Class of 2026 brought some memorable senior spirit and a little bit of chaos — all in good fun. 😊

In between the laughs and traditions, we had the opportunity to participate in an “18 in Idaho” presentation with high school seniors, joined by the up-and-coming junior and sophomore classes (and even a few furry friends 🐾). Together, we talked about the legal, financial, and personal responsibilities that come with becoming an adult — from financial education and credit to understanding important life decisions and responsibilities.

We sure enjoyed spending the morning with students, sharing resources, and embracing a little senior-year fun along the way. Congratulations to the seniors as they prepare for the next chapter — enjoy these moments and make those memories count! Thank you Nez Perce Tribe Office of Legal Counsel and Lapwai District Schools for the partnership!

This week, the Nimiipuu Fund lending team is attending the Native CDFI Network Northern Plains Regional Meeting in Browning, Montana—an important convening that brings together Native CDFIs, partners, policymakers, and financial leaders working to strengthen economic opportunity across Indian Country.

These regional gatherings create valuable space for cross-pollination of ideas and practices, while advancing conversations around access to capital, Native economic development, federal and local policy, and innovative financing solutions that impact Tribal communities. From lending strategies to policy discussions reaching all the way to Washington, D.C., Native CDFIs continue to play a critical role in strengthening pathways to self-determination and prosperity.

A highlight for our team was the opportunity to meet Brandon Beach, the 46th Treasurer of the United States. Appointed in 2025, Treasurer Beach oversees the U.S. Mint and Bureau of Engraving and Printing and serves as a senior advisor within the U.S. Department of the Treasury, including engagement on community development and fiscal issues.

As a Native CDFI, Nimiipuu Fund values opportunities to build relationships, elevate the unique needs and strengths of Tribal communities, and continue advocating for access to capital and financial tools that create lasting impact for Native people and rural communities.
