We're excited to announce the dates for our Summer Stories and Snacks program.
We'll be meeting in Cosgrove Park in Laporte at 10 am on most Thursdays this summer to read, learn, play, and of course have some tasty snacks.
The stories are geared towards elementary-school-aged people but kids of all ages can still have fun playing games and making crafts!
DM us for more information.

We love seeing conversations about consent and healthy boundaries begin early in fun, age-appropriate ways. 💙

A big thank you to the Sullivan County Library for incorporating Ask First, Monkey! into storytime, and creating such a fun morning for local kiddos. From personalized monkeys to healthy snacks and meaningful conversations, this was a wonderful way to encourage children to use their voices, speak up for themselves, and respect others’ boundaries.

We are grateful for community partnerships that help empower children through education, creativity, and kindness. 🐵📚

💚Today is Children's Mental Health Awareness Day. Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, heard, and valued💚

Children’s mental health matters every day. When young people have caring adults, supportive communities, and access to help when they need it, they are better able to grow, learn, heal, and thrive.

At Sullivan County Victim Services, we recognize the importance of creating safe spaces where children and families feel supported and empowered. Whether through listening, encouragement, advocacy, or connection to resources, small acts of kindness and understanding can make a lasting difference.

Today, we encourage our community to:
💚 Check in with the children in your life
💚 Encourage open and honest conversations
💚 Remind young people that it’s okay to ask for help
💚 Lead with compassion, patience, and support

Together, we can help build a community where every child knows they are not alone.

💚Mental health is part of our everyday lives. It shapes how we think, feel, connect with others, and move through the world.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re focusing on the importance of:
💚Noticing early signs of mental health concerns
💚Strengthening the support systems around us
💚Responding with care and compassion during challenging moments

Mental health touches every part of life. From housing and work to relationships and community. When challenges arise, they often intersect with substance use, making whole-person care essential for lasting recovery and well-being.

If you or someone you know needs support, help is available. Call or text 988, or chat via 988lifeline.org to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline for free, confidential, and compassionate support 24/7.

Let’s continue to look out for one another and build communities where everyone feels supported💚

As Denim Week wraps up, the momentum keeps going! Showing up for survivors can look like so many things. It can mean listening, learning, speaking up, or simply being there. We must recognize that this is a systemic issue that requires all of us. Every action, big or small, helps create a more supportive and respectful world.

This week is just the beginning. Let’s keep showing up for each other, for our communities, and for lasting change.

Denim Week continues, and today is all about community. Real change happens when we come together. Preventing sexual violence is not one person’s responsibility. Advocates, educators, leaders, friends, and neighbors all play a role in creating spaces where people feel safe, respected, and supported.

Every conversation, every action, and every moment of support matters. Together, we’re building something stronger.

Today, we honor Denim Day. What began as a moment of protest in 1999 grew into a global movement that brings people together to stand with survivors and promote respect. We must recognize injustice and make our voices heard, just as the women of the Italian Parliament did by wearing jeans on the steps of the Supreme Court.

Wearing denim today is a simple but powerful way to show support, spark conversations, and be part of something bigger. Across the country and right here in our communities, people are showing up in solidarity.

Today and every day, we uplift survivors and stand together.
